Please take this nonsense outta this thread. Its people like you that turns everything into some kinda sick fanboy crap.

Why is this topic a bother to you? why does it matter to you what or how i view the switch as and if i want to see how the majority here views it?

If you have nothing constructive to say, please leave before you drag this thread into some twisted petty shit.

Wow. I thought I had a temper.

And... You didn't answer the question.

This isn't having a temper. This is me just really wanting you to not derail this thread. As you do with everything that you deem is somehow taking a ashot at the Swith.

And my not answer the question was me ignoring it. I see it as something, and I am curious to see what others see it as and why.

I spoke clearly when givbing my reason backing what I think. Without bias or prejudice. I used clear points that formed my opinion and explained them. Disagree or not disagree.... have your opinion or choose not to. Your post did none of them at all. Notice how in your post you didn't answer the question that he thread was posing but instead chose to attack the motives of the thread starter? Why?

You have a habit of doing that in case you don't know. And I am asking as nicely as this thread and forum can allow (since I can't block you out of my thrad) try to keep on topic or just leave it. Do not derail it.

I did answer the question.

But my answer was deemed a cop-out before I could even say anything. So... yeah.

If you want me to give more detail, it's both a handheld and a home console because it is designed to be both. It's not a mere cable you plug from your handheld to the TV. The dock allows the console to get more juice to make the TV experience better than Nintendo's last home console, natively running the game in higher resolution. The concept isn't an afterthought either, like what's found for handheld consoles. It's built around that very concept. It comes with controllers just like any other home console.

It's also a handheld because you can take it on the go anywhere you want, with its controllers attached to the side of its screen.

It's not either this or that. It's both.

All points raised by Hynad are valid and an accurate analysis of the given situation.

On topic: Switch is a hybrid. Didn't read the OP because it left that option out. At least that's what the bolded words suggest.

Please look at the very first line of the first post of this thread. Here let me help you... it went something like this.....

First off lets get this outta the way........

I think teh first thing I aknowledged was that it could be used as both. And the option is there in the poll. However, I feel there is only one way to define a home console and a portable console. And the points I made was tailored to that notion. It being able to do both is no secret. No needmaking a HYBRID category and just say... well combine some stuff from both.

If you bothered to read the thread, you will say that while it was designed to do both.... it was made as one.

Are you kidding me? What does it matter if I deem an answer a cop out or not? It doesn't change that fact that its a viable honest option for most. As is eveident in the poll. We are all entitled to our opinions you know?

But you know what? thanks for answering...... your input is is very much appreciated.

It is a Tablet, that can connect to controllers, and dock to the TV.

As I said in the Amazon thread. This is nothing new. PSP Go had the ability to dock to the TV, and connect to the Dual Shock 3. It even had a web browser, music, photo, and video playback. It was also sold as a device to bring PS2 quality games on the Go.

The Switch is really Kinect and Xbox One all over again. It is a device that you should be able to get for much cheaper, but you are forced to buy an expensive, and unnecessary docking station.

It's a matter of perspective

Switch is a home console who's controller happens to be self-sufficient which in turn allows portability to be appropriated as a more flexible fashion of gameplay. Switch has taken the concept of the Wii U and simply made it more portable and convenient for the user.

BTW, thanks for making this thread, I didn't even realize we were posting in the Amazon thread until just now...

If we get an about even vote for console and handheld, that will only reinforce the option for it actually being both
