Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is the PS4 the best of both worlds now? (PC & Consoles)

And I don't where people get the idea that kb+m is good for gaming. It's horribly uncomfortable.

The mouse allows for faster and more precise aiming.
The Keyboard allows for more keys to be mapped.

This is why PC games have different balancing to console gaming, Overwatch is a good example of that.

Like all control schemes, it does take time to get accustomed to... But without a doubt the Keyboard and Mouse is the best control scheme.

What are the PC exclusive games ? I would think if they were popular like the witcher games then it would come out for consoles too. Not talking about MMO or subscription games. Surely they would make more money by having it on consoles too ?

Maybe the mouse is more precise but it is also more uncomfortable. The mouse is less precise than a touchscreen and, yet, no one is clamoring to play using it.

For the KB having more buttons, you don't need more buttons than what's on a controller - in fact, a bunch of them are not used. On top of that, the placement of keys on the KB are just not optimised.

On top of that, your position is so rigid when you play with KB+M - you have to be at a desk, it's just not fun. I play games sitting on the couch or lying on the floor or sitting sideways.

So, due to the above, KB+M is way inferior to controllers. And this is coming from an ex-PC gamer.

No. Shouldn't be compared. PS4 might be the best of the console world at this moment. Pc is whole different ballgame.

No...

I've seen a few different topics along these same lines, and I don't get it. The PS4 is a very good console. I don't know why that's not enough, and some people have to insist it's the greatest thing in the history of ever.

The only reason I'd want a PC is for mods. PS4 doesn't do that so, for me, I'd say no.

Xbox is much more like PC and Scorpio will offer closest to PC performance.

Most PS4 exclusives are also released on pc either at the same date or a later date only true first party titles are missing but the xbox exclusives and pc exclusives coming to pc make the library on pc much bigger.

Pc has much better prices on games digitally and also has the capability to outperform the ps4 in every way while using whichever controller you prefer fully supported by steam. PC gamers also get more good deals trough humblebundle and sales then any other platform.

PC Will also start supporting HDR with some titles already confirmed and PC games can be played online for free and surpass the 60fps cap in games.

PS4 is currently the best choice for japanese games and offers the highest possible graphics on console until the Xbox Scorpio is released.

The PC has gotten better since the release of PS4 and Xbox One because games generally run better (excamples like Batman left behind) and ports are handheld better while also getting almost all games from consoles (even danganronpa. dynasty warriors, final fantasy X, grand theft auto) all being ported.

PC is on a rise in my opinion the only real downside is you need multiple applications to access all your games and some people do not like to build their own pc altough its much cheaper then a console in the end. The Xbox is fastly becoming the ideal companion for a pc if companies keep supporting digital cross buy, which is just amazing value.

It all comes down to whether u like to play on the couch or on a desk. (I know some change the roles)

Games are the things that matter the most, and PS4 leaves everything including PC so far behind it's not funny.
Gravity Rush 2, Yakuza 0, KH2.8, Digimon, Nioh in the span of 2 weeks. sweatingguy.jpg

I mainly use my PC for browsing and working, I have a big Steam library thanks to the sales but I don't play them as often as I should, though they are mostly double dips and older games from the previous gens. I never pay more than $15 for a PC game.

Free online on PC isn't really a reason to stop my PS+ sub, the online communities are often not as big(Titanfall), my friends are on PS4 etc. Also I'm a big physical media supporter, still buying movies and music on discs.

One thing that really excites me on PC is having day 1 access to indies, like RedOut and GRIP.

The mouse is more precise than a touch screen. Where did you get the silly idea that a touch screen is more accurate?
A mouse allows for pixel-perfect accuracy. A touch-screen does not. A finger usually deals with icon-levels of pixel accuracy, which is typically 32x32 pixels. Not one pixel.

Try telling that to my Macros'.

I'll give you that, the Keyboard and Mouse is best on a desk/table/flat surface.
But it is the fastest, most accurate, most customizable control scheme that currently exists.

With that in mind, you can use the control scheme on the couch, there are specialised "tables" to allow you to do so, with great success.

No console can offer high-end PC performance. Unless you wish to pay thousands.

- Different options with different prices, PS4 Slim for 250€ or PS4 Pro for 400€

PC has even more options.

- Boost mode and PS4 Pro patches give you higher performance if you want it. And the boost mode proofs that your purchases of PS4 games are scalable to newer hardware just like on PC

Doesn't exactly throw new rendering techniques in though.

- A great VR helmet for a console price like 400€

VR hasn't gained any kind of traction. In short. It bombed.

- Out of the box recording footage on your console for an hour and the Pro does it even in 1080p, plus tons of other features

PC can record indefinitely. At resolutions that exceed even 4k.

Replacable internal HD and external HD

PC can have multiple internal and external HDD's. It can even combine multiple drives together to increase performance.

- Physical games

PC is mostly digital.

- Ease of use

Never ending patches, long install times, bugs and issues is "ease of use" - Please give me a Nintendo 64.

- More AAA exclusives

The PC has the most exclusives of any platform. It will even acquire all your console exclusives eventually.

I dont regret at all to have switched from PC to the PS ecosystem.

I'll add some points, considering you didn't touch any PC specific features. This was just the beating of the Playstation Drum rather than a proper comparison, please try to do better in future.

* PC has more gamers.( true but they bought a PC out of neccesity most of them only play f2p)
* PC has more games.(No Not really comparing 30 year old machine to a 3 year old console sounds stupid doesn't it)
* PC has better mod support.(Sure because modding hasn't been in PC for years and just started on Consoles why wouldn't be)
* PC has better performance.(Opinion not a fact,it all depends on your PC Specs)
* PC has better graphics.(Again opinion not a fact all depends on your specs)

*PC has better controls.(Again Opinion all depends on skill of the player)

* PC games are cheaper.(Digital games,Physical console games are all cheaper so again opinion you are comparing Digital Vs Phyisical)
* PC can even be played mobile.(Ps4 can be played too PsNow to and switch ahahahah)
* PC is 100% backwards compatible.(PC never even had a compatability it doesn't apply to anything)
* PC can run all your console games eventually.(using emulators illegal, not something to boast imo)
* PC can actually run CD's and 4K Blu Rays.(Console can too)
* PC has free online.(World of Warcraft and most of mmo games say hi)

Dude you look like the most insecure guy i have ever seen hahah wth.

It was just a thread
