Xenoblade will no doubt be better anyway

I'm not gonna forget FF because that is the game we are talking about, not some B-A rated spin off. A main FF game. A series that hastn appeared on Ninty consoles in a while. Sure there is s market for JRPGS but is there a market for FF on Switch? In a world where people can get the game for two (soon to be 3) other systems that they actually buy and play? and those systems will not doubt run the game MUCH better? I'm sorry I'm not seeing it. I think a switch version would do a bit better than Xone version and for the work they have to do that aint worth it. IMHO

How about lets bring up a hypothetical FF16.

Let's say they decide to go for some form of graphics of FF13-15 mix up. Something that still looks great, but is able to be on the Switch as well as the One/4

They all release at the same time. Do you really think there is not a market on the Switch. I can see people seeing a handheld final fantasy as a very appealing option. You know not having to be stuck on the same couch for a 100 hours, but being able to play in bed, one bus, at lunch, ect as well as their comfy couch.

And Yes I woudl gladly welcome a downgrade in graphics, if that meant the towns were bigger than a gas station and an RV, or they managed to complete the game and not have some hack/rush job in the last half of the game dropping plotlines, finishign plotlines through notes ont eh floor or learning about the entire 10 year timeskip from a boy telling you about it through optional dialogue.

If we go back to ff13 graphics to make a better story and world, I'm all game. Which, the Switch could handle. Thus in that scenerio, I could see the game selling at least half what PS4 does, and obviusly more than the one.

that scenario is most likely not gonna happen. Let's talk about the real scenario which is FF15 is out on the systems that are quite popular and a port of ff15 for Switch is 99% not happening and if it did, it probably would barely move the needle. Not a lot of downgraded games do better than their counterparts, but lets say their is a 16 for all systems. The Switch userbase is still far behind the other two, so It wouldnt even sell half PS4 version, might do as well as Xone and thats cause of Japan

There is no point arguing over how well 15 would do on switch.

Regardless if it were a decent port, or a downgraded one, it woudl be coming out too late. We have plenty of evidence that shows late ports always sell like crap.

This is not the third party support Switch will get. I will finally be happy when people realize Switch will be successful without needing these titles. Some of these titles would be nice, but the console needs the hand held exclusives upgraded for the home experience, not the home games downgraded for a Switch experience.

It is not a loss to me because I never thought or expected the game to come to the console. People that think like I do are not disturbed by these comments because we know this game was not meant for Switch.

Let Square make expensive games that take forever to make with little return on their investment. If they're too dumb to see that the Japanese market has moved on from home consoles than that's their problem.

Think about it, a small company like Level-5 posts bigger profits than Square-Enix.

And if and lets be real, the game would've bombed, then the next excuse woudl be "becaue it was downgraded"

yeah hypothetically speaking if it did release on switch and did bomb, im sure plenty of people would say that, but really would it be wrong? I think it definitely would be one reason. Just because a nintendo fan says something, doesnt mean its wrong.

I do however think it would have sold decently (not as good as PS4 though) because the nature of the game fits in well with Nintendo's games, and the protability aspect would help people choose it over PS4.

It would be a factor, but then I would have to ask why the sour grapes? If that is the reason then we all know its gonna happen so why even expect it on a system that you KNOW it will be downgraded. Heck those Wii U 3rd party games werent downgraded and they sold like sick (not just the western ones) Their not wrong but thats just one factor.

what is this "nature" I keep hearing about? Big budget expensive particle filled JRPGs? cause the only close equivalent is Xenoblade and its not like those games set the charts on fire. And i think people are putting way too much stock in portability. Maybe in Japan where they actually really give a damn about portables, but in the western world? Naw performance>portablilty. Hell its not evne that portable you still gottta put it in a bag

Okay, whatever. Bring FF 1-10+12, Dragon Quest 1-9, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana instead.

not even at low settings, 480p on portable mode?
After watching some LowSpecGamer videos, i realise that everything is possible.

lot of multiplats on WIi u sold like crap and they werent late. Bioshock, Mass Effect, Tomb Raider, hell RE4 on Wii and PS2 were all late ports and still sold well.
