Philips' CD-i came out in 1991, while the CD-ROM add on for NEC's PC Engine (AKA TurboGrafx-16) came out in 1988. ^_- |
Glad someone else knows their history.
Microsoft entered the console business for two simple reasons:
1. They needed to wash some money.
2. They wanted to buy DK to Nintendo.
My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

He does says "for their video game console". So even if there was a disc Zelda game for the CD-i, that console was from Philips, not Nintendo. And the aborted Playstation from the early 90's (which was made by Sony) doesn't count since there wasn't a game released for it, anyways. |
And Turbo CD came out in 1988 for the NEC Turbografx16/PC Engine.

I'm one of the few people in my circle who played on the TurboGrafx-16 back in the days. Didn't get to use the CD-ROM add-on, but I saw it in magazines back then.
Keith Courage was my favourite game on it (although I didn't have access to many games):
