There were many opponents, including myself, which who were completely against Nintendo doing mobile games of their IP's. There were many fears moving foward with this concept that harbored:
Fear of degrading their IP ; Fear of going fully mobile ; It would detract from their main console games; Fear of mobile game policy influencing them; etc.
After the launch of Miitomo, Super Mario Run and FE: Heroes, (I don't count Pokemon GO and never will because that is not only mainly the Pokemon Company's decsion, it is also made completely by another developer), some fears for many have been alleviated and some new problems have arisen. Some people expected Nintendo to fundamentally change and improve as a company to their taste when they made content for a platform not owned by them, but that is not how it works nor did it. The quality of the games on the devices have been consistent with how it has been on consoles, just on a much smaller scale. It also is a fantastic way to advertise their games.
I don't like mobile games as a whole. but I liked Sonic Runners unironically, because it was a great way test reation time and quickly asses the situation. Since then I have been more relaxed about mobile.
I have also tried FE: Heroes, and it really is neat to have when you're waiting on a line or something. It's not nearly as fun as the real thing, but it is quality work. Like a Fire Emblen lite. Stamina is good, I really don't like microtransactions and that is my main detractions from playing ANY game that has it. But so far you would have to REALLY want to get characters to get it. Playing vanilla is fun enough. It also makes me go and say, "hey this character is cool, I haven't played this game though, let me look her/his game up." I have yet to try Mario Run because I use Android.
Anyway what do you think so far of Nintendo's mobile efforts? Have you changed your opinion? Or perhaps you either patting yourself in the back or groaning?
Ultimately I can say it was a great venture for them which I am still against. I perfectly understand the logical fallacy of my opinion and I accept it regardless.
