Forums - Nintendo - Kimishima: "Nintendo currentily studying VR, will come to Switch once it's right!"

VR is probably not for the first generation Switch, maybe in the second or third. I can see Switch generations being much more frequent. Every 5 years is way too long, maybe every 2-3 years.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

The problem is not 720 or 1080p. Switch graphic is form 7th gen graphic , if they want to make it full VR then it need to have 6th gen graphic when on VR, the same thing happen with PS4 some games need to be downgrade to PS3 graphic, to achieve 90 fps or above.

I bought a cheap VR headset for my phone (Droid Moto Z Force) and it was a waste of money. If Nintendo does it, I hope they do it right.

Virtual Boy 2
Well it won't be coming to the Switch its not powerful enough

The thing is, cell phone VR needs a 1440p screen to look good. Otherwise, the screen door effect is crazy. The premium PC headsets have this problem as well. There is simply no way that a 720p screen will do the job well.

With that said, I think it's a near certainty that Nintendo will release an upgraded Switch if there original sells well. They need to make it more portable, and higher resolution for both VR, and general portable gaming use.

The only time I tried a Vive I was very aware of the big pixels... Of course the switch's vr will be far far worse and it's too big to be ideal to strap to your face. However, if they can tackle motion sickness and release it packed in with a $60.. no $80 VR port of skyward sword... I'd pick it up.

The only reason vr needs high spec is to achieve high fps at high res. As the switch is low resolution power isn't an issue. Does anyone know if the switch is limited to 60fps?

Step One: Up screen resolution.

As if the Switch will be able to handle VR. lol

Adapt Metroid Prime Trilogy to VR, release a cardboard add-on and you have my monies.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

As if the Switch can even do proper VR. It's too weak to even receive most third party games so VR is clearly out of reach.
