Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Switch has in development over 100 titles from more than 70 publishers

Tatsumi Kimishima:

"At the presentation, we announced that there were over 80 titles in development from more than 50 software publishers,
but that number has now climbed to over 100 titles from more than 70 publishers. Please look forward to more announcements about the software lineup in the future."

This list is what we know so far.

So there are 20 new publishers on board? Nice

More than 100? Over 100?

In any case, let's hope they won't just be cheap gimmicky third party games like what we got for the Wii.

Good to have confirmation, you can get a taste of them from that updated fanmade lineup pic, lots of indies making up that number.

You say tomato, I say tomato

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

Things just keep getting better for the Switch. Big number of titles in the pipeline, production ramped up because of high preorder demand, sales of Pokemon and 3DS up (handheld market can't be that "dead" if sales of a 5 year old console go up) and a decent financial year for Nintendo.
They also confirmed they will make money with every Switch unit sold. But hey, the online will be bad so all of that doesn't matter (just kidding).

The Wii actually had some great third party games. Not the AAA games the PS3 or 360 got but some really cool, quality titles and ports (Resident Evil 4, Okami, Umbrella Chronicles, House of the Dead, Red Steel 2, Zack & Wiki, Muramasa, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Little King's Story, No more Heroes, the Lego games and Guitar Hero which sold on par or even better than their PS3/360 counterparts...)

If the Switch gets the same amount of support the Wii got we'll drown in good games. We just won't get those western AAA titles. And of course we'll have to ignore shovelware but that was the case with the PS2 as well.

Yes it did. But, barring some exceptions, most of those weren't so good.

Actually 3DS is 6 year old console. :D

I wish they mention at least a few titles. Also

"We will continue to introduce new titles that players can enjoy for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. We have heard speculation that Nintendo Switch will replace the Nintendo 3DS, as both are game systems that can be played outside the home, but Nintendo 3DS has unique characteristics that differ from those of Nintendo Switch. Furthermore, the price points and play experiences offered b y the two systems are different and we do not see them as being in direct competition. We plan to continue both businesses separately and in parallel"

They'll say that for a while. Like they said the Switch was going to be a third pillar alongside the 3DS and Wii U... But we all know what's happening with the Wii U. And if the Switch catches on, and when the 3DS starts to slow down in sales, they will slowly switch all of their development efforts to the Switch.
