I'm not a fan of Nintendo having paid online at all when their games BARELY offer any online support... but if more Nintendo games had online multiplayer, then I'd be okay with it. Like yeah they'll have a little community thing going on, looking at players screenshots and seeing friends activity but that's it. Let me give you a small list of games that has GREAT online multiplayer potential, and games I WOULD'VE bought for online multiplayer and there's many other games that are not on the list. 

• Mario Party: Would've been a GREAT way to meet people. Online Multiplayer and voice chat? THAT'LL BE SO FUN!
• Star Fox: I haven't played any of its games but if it had online multiplayer I would buy within a heart beart!
• Hyrule Warriors: This would be fun! bigger maps, more characters to choose from like damn!
• Donkey Kog Country:  For all the people who found this game too hard, maybe online multiplayer help would be the solution?
• New Super Mario Bros: OM for 2D Mario would be really fun!
• Pretty much ANY multiplayer Ninteno game should HAVE online play!    

It'd be a rip-off if Nintendo made us pay for online and barely of their IP's have Online multiplayer support. The games I played online for the Wii U was Mario Kart 8, Splatoon and Smash 4.... and Super Mario Maker? if that counts. A few other 3rd party titles but that's it.  I'm NOT going to pay for an online subscription for Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Arms and I think that's it. I'll just wait for more online games to come out for the Switch.

I know people are thinking about 3rd party support. but if I were to get the next Call of Duty, or Destiny... I'd get it on  the PS4 Pro. I'm not giving up on the PS4, PS4 is the HOME of 3rd party titles. I have sooo many family and friends on PS4 who plays 3rd party games on there (Yes including my Playstation friend). Plus that extra hardware power?, damn. I already accepted that Switch will be a Wii U 2.0 but a hopefully successfull Wii U! Looks like I'm getting the Switch just for its Nintendo traditional IPs and new IP's. So for 3rd party games, I'll stick with them on PS4.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I don't want ALL Nintendo games to have online multiplayer. Like Zelda, 3D Mario, 1-2 Switch, Bayonetta doesn't need it. All I'm saying is, they better/should have more online multiplayer games if they're going to be charging for online. They better offer good online stuff if they're charging.       

God no.If the game dosent need it, then there shouldnt be online elements at all.

Why do people think every game needs to be able to have online multiplayer? we seem to ignore single/local multiplayer games.

Mario could definitely work online (not sure if it can in sandbox form), but donkey kong and hyrule warriors aren't really internet games. Sure, star fox and mario party can always work with internet, but I do NOT want to see Nintendo waste resources on building a crappy internet mode just to satisfy some people.

Hope you apply that to all first parties.

Yes they better. Because without the third party bringing the biggest online games, I don't see why people should pay for the online service.
No Gta online, no battlefront, no battlefield, no overwatch, no rocket league, no call of duty.

Playstation and Nintendo friends. They were bound to break up.

Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Pokemon, Splatoon, Kid Icarus, Luigi's Mansion, Pokken Tournament, Mario Maker, Xenoblade are all Nintendo games with online in the last couple years and im likely forgetting some. I would be bery surprised if this list didnt grow.
