That's not true at all. It was Pokemon that sold that much, not the 3DS itself.

Just release a 3DS sucessor switch.
without a dock, but can be turned(switched, putting the joy-con on larger part of screen) vertically for playing like a 2DS, And would also have a slot for DS and 3DS games. So, they can keep making 3DS games, and also sell switches.

It's Pokemon. They could have made this game for Ouya and it would still sell over 15 Million. Doesn't prove anything.

Nintendo is ONLY keeping the 3ds just in case if the Switch bomb hard so they can make a true successor for 3ds. As of right now Switch is only replacing the Wii U.

The longer 3DS remains alive, the worse Switch will sell.

If they don't kill 3DS soon, Switch will be another Wii U.

If they're worried about Switch not selling, all they have to do is release Pokemon exclusive on it, that alone will guarantee its success. Of course, they'll take the coward's way out and keep putting Pokemon on 3DS, thus crippling Switch.

I disagree with anything Sun and Moon show its time to move on from the 3DS due to how much it held those games back.
