Forums - Politics - Obama set the foundation for Trumps Muslim ban

What we really need is not to ban muslims, but to support Christians all around the globe. Christians are the most persecuted group in the World. We have to help them, so that muslims stop erradicating them from their countries, thriving Christian communities would be our only hope of stopping this muslim madness.

You're kidding, right? There are many Christian terrorists in Africa and even India, they just don't make the news.

Trump and Obama are both very authoritarian, and they both occupy the same position, so it's not surprising at all that they have very similar policies. Republicans and Democrats are much closer to each other than people like to admit.

There's some truth to this. Both aren't very authoritarian but both do have many of the same positions. Much of what Trump is proposing currrently were ideas Obama wanted to implement but were met with opposition. For instance, Obama wanted to tax businesses that send jobs overseas but was met with vehement backlash from right-wing voters who called it excessive taxation and anti-capitalism. Or how Obama bailed out the auto industry and was chastised for doing so yet Trump saved 700 jobs by giving Carrier $7 million and they call him a genius. But inversely, liberals loved it when Obama was issuing executive orders from the Oval Office now they can't stand when Trump is doing it. Both sides are full of sh!t. Even though the sh!t smells differently it's still sh!t.

Not sure what you said about liberals is enough to prove that "both sides suck". We liked Obama's executive orders because he used them to to further things we supported and, in our view, help people. Trump, on the other hand, uses executive orders to say and implement awful things. We liberals don't hate the IDEA of Trump using executive orders. We hate what he is doing with them, which isn't a contradiction. That said, I'm sure there ARE some hypocritical liberals out there that suddenly hate executive orders, but that's not really what I've seen left wingers on social media complain about.

I still don't have a formed opinion on this matter but this guy seems to bring some information that should be discussed while on this subject.

What do you guys think?

People are going to dismiss his video because of his association with Info Wars. However, there are people of the left who are also not falling for the "muslim ban' narrative, such as Jimmy Dore of The Young Turks.

Well Trump himself said they would do what they could to get the "Christian" refugees over here safely. I'd say that statement alone makes it obvious this a ban against Muslims.

No. Obamas plan was different.

stop making excuses for obama

The irony is strong with this one.

Funny how defending Obama makes you a obama lover according to republicans, but defending Trump's ridiculous actions is okay for some reason.

This is all a huge mess that is seriously agitating. Really hope things clear up soon.

Trump signed it, not Obama. Quit changing goalposts. Nothing was stopping obama from issuing an Executive order during his final days as president. The first thing that orange clown did was sign this thing.

The guy comes across as a giant asshole but I think that is one of the job requirements if you want to work for or be associated with Alex Jones/Info Wars you also have to be a good snake oil salesman and have a lifetime supply of tin foil hats.

Trump's plan is to lead US invasions against those 7 Muslim countries to implement democracy by installing US puppet governments. This has been done before with previous Presidents and it will continue under President Trump. Obama is the perfect fall guy. Trump and the media will blame Obama for this mess and Teflon Trump portrayed as the hero.
