There's some truth to this. Both aren't very authoritarian but both do have many of the same positions. Much of what Trump is proposing currrently were ideas Obama wanted to implement but were met with opposition. For instance, Obama wanted to tax businesses that send jobs overseas but was met with vehement backlash from right-wing voters who called it excessive taxation and anti-capitalism. Or how Obama bailed out the auto industry and was chastised for doing so yet Trump saved 700 jobs by giving Carrier $7 million and they call him a genius. But inversely, liberals loved it when Obama was issuing executive orders from the Oval Office now they can't stand when Trump is doing it. Both sides are full of sh!t. Even though the sh!t smells differently it's still sh!t. |
Not sure what you said about liberals is enough to prove that "both sides suck". We liked Obama's executive orders because he used them to to further things we supported and, in our view, help people. Trump, on the other hand, uses executive orders to say and implement awful things. We liberals don't hate the IDEA of Trump using executive orders. We hate what he is doing with them, which isn't a contradiction. That said, I'm sure there ARE some hypocritical liberals out there that suddenly hate executive orders, but that's not really what I've seen left wingers on social media complain about.
