Well, this is just speculation, but I believe most of it to be true. PS5 will be B/C with PS4, which will be much easier to do with similar architecture, to help keep gamers with them. I also hope they make it B/C with PS1 and PS2 games, at least through the store, with both upping res and AA. PS3 may still be too much.
I think we're going to be getting a lower end Ryzen CPU, which will still be much more powerful than the one in the PS4/XBO/Scorpio (if its still using Jaguar.) I also expect a low-mid Vega GPU. One I saw the leaked rumors for was 12 Tflops, with 16 GB of HBM2 RAM. I think they may use that one for a base, but lower the performance slightly for heat reasons to about 11 Tflops, with maybe 12 GB of RAM. Either way, it's going to blow the Scorpio out of the water. And I know the standard answer to that from Xbox fans is, "Well, wait til the XB2/Scorpio 2.0 comes out." And my answer to that is, "Well, let's wait and see if MS is still making HW at that point." Cause if Scorpio fails miserably, MS is going to seriously reconsider staying in.
As for the "leak," I highly doubt Sony has anything to do with this, as this is mostly speculation. However, as we get closer to the Scorpio's launch, or maybe slightly after it, you can bet Sony is going to have some controlled leaks. And if MS actually tries to pull the "Scorpio is a next gen system," count on Sony to officially announce the PS5 in 2018 for a mid-late 2019 launch. They'll also cut the PS4 to $149 and Pro to $249 at some point that same year. Not going to be looking good for a $399-$449 Scorpio. And I doubt MS is going to want to lose money just so they have a price war with the Pro.
