Isn't that the way it usually is the entertainment industry in general?
Every year, big dumb loud summer "blockbusters" make hundreds of millions despite having lame acting and dialogue and barely any semblance of a coherent plot, while most quality films (in general) are lucky to make their money back at the box office. The latest cookie cutter, corporate-produced pop artists sell their music by the truckloads (and it's in every commercial and every radio station you tune to these days), while most artists with any real sense of talent or creativity are left playing small bars and clubs and try to build up just enough of a cult following for them to be able to fund their next album.
Videogames are no different, especially these days now that it's become a multi billion dollar a year industry, and the big companies all have bottom lines to meet and shareholders to please.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
