Maybe, but I already played it on SNES 20 years ago.

I think the newer ones play better, but thats just me. The old ones controls are a bit floaty. Still great games though.

That's funny because I thought the new ones are a bit floaty ^^
I think they are pretty much the same, and that's the problem.

I really feel like Im playing as a heavy character in the newer ones. Playing as Donkey Kong in the original is not great. Use Diddy as much as I can.
Challenge is part of the Donkey Kong Series since its SNES days......
I think it would take away a lot of the game´s personality. It´s an old-school platformer, after all.
And, personally, I don´t thinkg DKTF is that hard. The SNES games seemed a lot harder to me, they required more precise control and timing and some secrets (coins/hidden stages) were just really ridiculous to get.
DKTF has some long boss battles but they are not as demanding regarding precision and timing than older DKC games. They just require patience and some memorization. And if you die too much, you can always use items that make things easier.
The art-style, soundtrack and ingenuous level design are well worthy this game, at least to me.

Donkey Kong is Hard ahahahhhahahah.
Man i haven't played that game in a while.
Very dramatic OP...
If they were to implement dofficulty settings I would be bothered, but only as long as the challenge (which isn't nearly as intense as its being made out to be) is still there for those who want it...
In the mean time, you should stick to DKC3, though even that game has some stages that can throw you for a loop...
Have a nice day...

I liked it because I've never played a donkey kong 2D game before. Plus how many 2D donkey games have there been in the last 25 years 5/6 maybe. Compare that to many many recent franchises
Well, from my experience, DKCTF was challenging just on right stop. I felt excited by its difficulty, and play over and over again with determination, pretty enjoyable. got 100% on normal mode, but I couldnt go into hard mode.
Anyway, I felt very well by playing it, the best game I played on years. If it was easier, I dont thing I would enjoy as much as I enjoyed.
But my girldfriend just couldnt play it at all. Too hard for her, she got frustrated and gave up.
so, is a fair complain. Im ok with an easy mode, as long the normal mode is kept untouched.
