Forums - General - Huge protest going on in NYC (and DC) over Trump's anti-immigration order

Strikes are a form of protest and for the most part they are highly effective.

Only if they flourish in political party/movement that can push its agenda legally.

Are there any other countries in the world where 1 political party is in favour of illegal immigration?

Doesn't make sense to me.

Yeah I really don't get how you can be for illegal immigration.

Uncontrolled immigration does not work. It divides and destroys countries, especially if some of the immigrants are drug dealing murders and criminals. If a state gets overrun, in the end the legal citizens will become refugees.

This is the battle for "sanctuary cities" - cities that protect illegal immigrants by not prosecuting them for violating federal immigration laws. NYC is one of these sanctuary cities.

Is there really anybody in the world who thinks that he'she can change anything with screams on the streets ?

XDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Why not. The rebellion in Turkey was ended because the followers of the president had his people go out in the streets and stand in the way of the tanks.

That was the coup. Protest created for pushing agendas have to transform in political organization, if not they will die naturally.

Listen, people in ur country can elect a man who you are hatin all day'nin, u can protest next to Pres office 24/7 and that will change nothing. It's counterproductive.

At this stage it'd be easier for the left wing protesters to just camp out in NYC, LA and DC permanently.Trump inauguration protests, women march protests and these new anti-immigrant protests all in the same week? I just hope people that have to actually work and get around for business aren't being too heavily impacted by this constant protesting by people who obviously have plenty of spare time.

Not like the majority of these protestors work anyways...

Unbelievable how America has become this divided. Not surprised, but more disappointed by how things have become.

One of the things that happened is that the Democrats gerrymandered themselves into larger metropolitan centers - that is where all protests take place now but in the end activists just talk to likeminded activists - no diversity of opinion to be found.
