Why wouldn't it? Mario Kart Wii is a huge release and GT5P is a prologue, a demo game. Hyped or not, it's not going to as well.

It COULD beat GT5P, but will it?

With all the other games coming out this month, it could get lost in the shuffle and move to the back burners of those who may have bought GTA4, or maybe even Prologue. But chances are, they won't buy it because they just bought SSBB and are still enjoying the hell out of that game and have to wait to buy a new game.

Now, if you were to compare it to the Full game of GT5 when that comes out next year? Well, GT5 will smash MKWii's numbers.

And Leo, there may be a reason why some reviewers are giving GT5P a lower score that doesn't really relate to the quality of the game. It's the fact that so many have this belief that it's nothing more then a paid Demo so they will knock it points because it's not a full fledged game. They should review it on what it is and everyone knows that it's not the complete GT5.

That would be a monumental dissapointment if MK didn't outsell Prologue!

GT5 has a good chance at outselling MK Wii though.

Mario Kart may be bigger than Halo 3 in first week.

Its a perfect casual+hardcore game.

First week MK against first week prologue (I assume you are combining each regions first week)

GT5 full game though definately not (although MK will outsell it in total sales)

GT:P didn't do numbers even close to what I was expecting in Europe - so MK should easily beat it, 600k min I would say.

Its hard to say. It not only has to compete with GTA4 but more importantly for those who don't own an HD console, it must compete with Wii Fit. I think that similar to the DS version, MKWii will show enourmous legs but first week sales may dissappoint. I blame Wii Fit.

I don't think so, I could be wrong and it may be close but GT5 is a game that A LOT of Ps3 owners all over the world are waiting for.

The same could be said about Mario Kart, actually but I just see GT5 as having stronger sales.

We'll just have to wait and see.
