That was an interesting interview.
"Nintendo, in my opinion... they're more awesome toward third parties than I've ever experienced them, so I'm afraid anything I say here's going to sound like a slight. But it's still not enough of an engagement to force things to happen, that wouldn't happen just naturally."
Who knows exactly what he means but it sounds like Nintendo is talking to western third-parties, which is certainly an improvement, but they're not going out and proactively doing things to pull them in. Probably a different story with Activision, Ubisoft, and EA, though.
Also, he talked about wanting Nintendo console games on a handheld. That's the opposite for me, as I'm more interested in playing Japanese third-party handheld games on my TV. That Nintendo can interest gamers who want different things is one reason why unifying the library was such a good idea.
