The ray effects look inferior on Switch and if you look at the bottom right on Switch the damaged bridge lighting looks all wrong with the strange orange colour for the water. The wii u actually is looking a lot better than I expected and definitely looking more like natural light. There seems to be more cloud and mist in the wii u image too.

This can probably be explained by a slightly different time in the game but my wii u expectations has actually raised a bit.

It looks awesome on either format though. Really looking forward to this.

I think the orange coloured water is supposed to be reflection from the sun set , the difference I noticed is link on the rock  is further back in the WiiU version just look how the blue tower  is further away and the rocks to links right on the switch are in the distance to link on the Wii U , to me the more I look at it the more it looks less like for like.

How old is the Wii U build, though?

As others have pointed out, this could be down to the Wii U build being much older, and differing weather conditions.

Once the game is out I'm sure Digital Foundry will nail the differences.

Huh, no UI on the Switch image.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

... I dont think that's called draw distance, it's image detailed.

I am no dev though.

It's a better draw distance. I mean, it's obvious so I can't understand why some people are saying otherwise. The wii u version is more misty for a reason. Just look at the volcano, one has lava, the other one has "something that looks like lava"

same with everything else.

I'm getting it for both.

Because there is no way I am waiting a day more than I can to play it. But since I so far couldn't manage to pre-order the Switch, I have to settle for the Wii U version for my first play-through.

Interesting comparison here.

It's already been more than 5 years since Skyward Sword.
