No, it's just the fact that either way it sells, they're porting it to other systems. While they won't port their games to the Switch.

If they pay for porting and all the costs etc associated with a game release for PS4/ X1, the price of that port is actually greater because they would need to consider the deficit of the original Switch release and add that on top of the porting/ release cost for PS4/ X1.

What that means, is that the money required from those 2 releases is now actually greater (for overall profit of the games development on all platforms). And if those 2 don't make profit then they have in fact lost more money.

That is probably their thinking. it might sound dumb but I can see it.

Yeah, but the whole article is about how they are only going to Port it if it sells well on the Switch.

Street Fighter IV 3D sold more than a million on the 3DS, I'm going to assume this game will do well enough considering it's a HD remake sprite-based. It will be ported elsewhere. But aren't there other classic SF remakes out there?

I dont think enough people in the industry is giving Ninty enough credit. Sure the basic concept of Switch may be a bit difficult to get behind and everything points to it being a colossal failure. But never count Ninty out. That's what the Wii showed us. That console had no business being as successful as it was.
