Perhaps they didn't want to release info on too many wii u ports at once to avoid looking like there was nothing on the switch but wii u ports.

Yes, but some of the rumours (will Switch rumours ever die?) say that Smash for Switch will be a merger of the Wii U version and the 3DS version. The two games only share the same roster and have different stages and side games. If this rumor is true, Smash for Switch will be something new.

Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!

They weren't going to show all the games  that they have in the pipeline for Switch in a single event. Most probably they're saving it for E3.

With FIFA announced for Switch I can see Madden, but Battlefield? We all know that there will be a Smash for Switch. But we need news, small details, anything really, to hold us over until the game releases. In this case, silence is not golden.

I think they are saving the announcement for E3. Super Smash Bros. 4 Deluxe to be released this holiday. Two reasons:

1. They have enough games that they didn't need to show their full hand at the Switch presentation. Remember that only first party games scheduled for 2017 were announced there. So far only Fire Emblem has been confirmed for 2018 and that was a week later.

2. They didn't want to give the impression that "half the lineup" consists of remastered games. Once Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is out of the way, it will be a lot easier to pitch another remaster. E3 will also see announcements for 2018 games.

Well at least Nintendo goes the extra yard and gives us new content to their "remasters". They have shown time and again that a new version of an old game gets what the first version was missing. Some type of story mode perhaps?

Will be at E3 most likely. My guesses

April - Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
May - ARMS
June - Splatoon 2
August - Super Smash Bros. Deluxe
October - Fire Emblem Warriors
November - Super Mario Odyessy
December - Pokemon Stars

Something like that for the rest of the year. Pikmin 4 will get moved into 2018, joining Fire Emblem Switch.

They also cost $60 instead of $40 nor do you get a triology for $60 like the Halo and Uncharted remasters. Anyway perhaps this smash will get a decent story mode or they are making smash 5.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

As many others have stated, E3 may show us something. It will come, I'm sure.

While, I'd personally prefer Smash 5, another game this soon would damn near kill Sakurai, so it may be a while before we get that, a long while.
