I just wrote "Why" because there is more than one question. There is much to discuss also. My first question encompasses all of my questions in a broad manner. I will break it down though, as to not just seem like a troll. I think these are logical and valid points and questions.

Number 1. Why would anyone choose an XB1 over a PS4? My only opinions on this are that the newer ones come with an ultra HD Blu-ray drive. Also, the few major exclusives: Halo, Gears of War, and Forza. Lastly, there is loyalty. Loyalty from the 360 days and loyalty to an American product. To me, these aren't nearly enough, unless you are in it for low cost Ultra HD Blu-ray. All major Microsoft exclusives are on PC, and Microsoft has their consoles made in China. There is one other thing: I have heard the online is superior. Is it that much better? Could that be a major factor?

2. Why do Japanese bother to develop for XB1? The sales for Japanese games are always (or almost always) terrible. Look at Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 sales and even FFXV. It seems very few XB1 players want more than shooters. Even Forza sells very low compared to Gran Turismo. If I owned an XB1, I would want Forza, FFXV, DB Xenoverse 2, classics like Alan Wake, etc. OK, Forza and Alan wake are not Japanese. Sorry. Am I mistaken or missing some big sellers? Let me know, please. There are tons of Japanese exclusives on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation platforms. I think that is because Japanese do not expect decent sales on XB1, overall.

3. With PS4 having more powerful hardware and most of the same games, why choose XB1? Not counting the upcoming powerhouse, Scorpio.

4.  Is the user interface a leage ahead of PS4? Are the install times for games and downloading games a good deal faster? Is the overall UI just better?

Well, that's it. Thanks for reading. I look forward to the comments. I don't reply a lot, but I will take time to read most or all comments.

Well...

- I think several people said it already but the controller is a big reason for me. It is, in my oppinion and based on my preferences, way better than the Play Station one. I really dislike the Play Station controllers (the layout mostly but also the triggers and some other things).
- I love the dashboard, again, I'm not a big fan of the Play Station Four interface (yes I have a Play Station Four, bought it for the Witness and possibly Horizon later this year)
- TV integration is great and I use the Xbox One to watch TV so it is super practical for me.
- The Microsoft account and eco-system integration. This is actually a huge plus for me as I'm using almost exclusively Microsoft services.
- Being able to stream the Xbox One on my PCs. I use that almost every day and the kids too; this is really working very well and I can play anywhere with my Surfaces or desktop without the need to go in my living room if it is taken or the need to buy a specific device (like the Vita or anything else) any Windows 10 PC will do. Works with the Hololens too; I'm not really using it but I have fun some time with it :)

- Xbox Play Anywhere... This is starting with few games but I already used it at multiple occasion and it is really nice to know that you can buy one game and play it on all your devices in the house (I have PCs and Xbox Ones)

Those are some reasons... On top I would add the exclusives that are better for my taste.

I mean at the end, everything is about personal preferences anyway.

For me it was the games. Xbox had more games i wanted to play than PS4.

Porting between XBONE and PS4 is easy, that's why Japanese companies make games for it.

I don't get it either. I mean, if it's movies to be played, it would definitely be played on Xbone's 4K Blu-rays for higher fidelity.

Its the go to excuse to explain why PS4 exclusives are so highly rated on Metacritic in contrast to XOne exclusives.  It's pretty much a poor trolling attempt, seriously, as a PS fan I could do better in downplaying PS4 exclusives lol.

I chose the PS4 over the Xbox One.

But i will pick up the scorpio, the things I really like:

- Being able to play my games on PC and Scorpio
- Sharing these games with my best friend so we only have to pay half price
- Sharing gold membership with everyone on my console, or sharing it with a friend
- Backwars Compatability with the X360 library, which is better so far compared to this generation
- Better performance in many X360 games (its basicly a Xbox360 Pro lol)

Also some preferences
- I like the media center options on Xbox (VLC and UHD)
- I like the controller more then PS4 (Battery life, layout, feels more premium) I use this controller on my pc games.
- More local co op games (Gears 1-4, Halo 1-4, State of Decay 2 this year etc)

Now I already own a PS4 and I recommend almost everyone I know to get a PS4 but when the scorpio comes out I will proberbly recommend that console to anyone that wants the best performance in games and owns a 4k television since I feel like the PS4 Pro needed more and faster memory to deliver on a real 4k image, as proven on PC with graphics cards and the Scorpio will deliver this.

Hope my opinion was informative.

I must be missing a piece of the puzzle, why was this moderated? :/ Was he on the brink or something?

Whatever you have against the XB1, no matter how reasonable it seems to you; is going to be subjective.

As such, anyone that doesn't just call you a troll and actually tries to answer you, will give you purely subjective answers. (I don't think you are trolling by the way, I ask the exact same questions too).

But I will tell you what it really is, I believe majority of gamers have a bias. Its almost inevitable. Brand loyalty. Most won't admit it, and some are way worse than others. There are a few, maybe around 10% of gamers that don't have a bias and usually can afford to buy everything. But those that cant afford to buy everything, that always have to choose something over the other, will develop some sort of Bias over time.

The thing about this bias, is that gamers will always come up with reasons to justify it. And make no mistake, they really truly believe that their reasons are genuine even if in truth said reasons are all just subjective.

is it really that hard to understand that other people have different priorities than you? personally I look at a PS4 and can't see a single reason to buy one and I have been waiting since launch for a reason to get one. (I don't have a console allegience, I usually end up with all though I skipped Wii U)

See what I mean? Take him for instance (sorry in advance for using you as an example to prove my point) such a gamer will tell you that there is no reason to own this or that or that he is not biased and gets everything. Yet he has somehow not found a reason to get two of the three existing consoles. Yet he will say theer is no reason to get a PS4 while if you ask someone else (eg me) I will tell you that there are tons of reasons.

As I said, gamers are biased.
