Gaming - Xbox One. Why? - View Post

I just wrote "Why" because there is more than one question. There is much to discuss also. My first question encompasses all of my questions in a broad manner. I will break it down though, as to not just seem like a troll. I think these are logical and valid points and questions.

Number 1. Why would anyone choose an XB1 over a PS4? My only opinions on this are that the newer ones come with an ultra HD Blu-ray drive. Also, the few major exclusives: Halo, Gears of War, and Forza. Lastly, there is loyalty. Loyalty from the 360 days and loyalty to an American product. To me, these aren't nearly enough, unless you are in it for low cost Ultra HD Blu-ray. All major Microsoft exclusives are on PC, and Microsoft has their consoles made in China. There is one other thing: I have heard the online is superior. Is it that much better? Could that be a major factor?

2. Why do Japanese bother to develop for XB1? The sales for Japanese games are always (or almost always) terrible. Look at Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 sales and even FFXV. It seems very few XB1 players want more than shooters. Even Forza sells very low compared to Gran Turismo. If I owned an XB1, I would want Forza, FFXV, DB Xenoverse 2, classics like Alan Wake, etc. OK, Forza and Alan wake are not Japanese. Sorry. Am I mistaken or missing some big sellers? Let me know, please. There are tons of Japanese exclusives on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation platforms. I think that is because Japanese do not expect decent sales on XB1, overall.

3. With PS4 having more powerful hardware and most of the same games, why choose XB1? Not counting the upcoming powerhouse, Scorpio.

4.  Is the user interface a leage ahead of PS4? Are the install times for games and downloading games a good deal faster? Is the overall UI just better?

Well, that's it. Thanks for reading. I look forward to the comments. I don't reply a lot, but I will take time to read most or all comments.

Well...

- I think several people said it already but the controller is a big reason for me. It is, in my oppinion and based on my preferences, way better than the Play Station one. I really dislike the Play Station controllers (the layout mostly but also the triggers and some other things).
- I love the dashboard, again, I'm not a big fan of the Play Station Four interface (yes I have a Play Station Four, bought it for the Witness and possibly Horizon later this year)
- TV integration is great and I use the Xbox One to watch TV so it is super practical for me.
- The Microsoft account and eco-system integration. This is actually a huge plus for me as I'm using almost exclusively Microsoft services.
- Being able to stream the Xbox One on my PCs. I use that almost every day and the kids too; this is really working very well and I can play anywhere with my Surfaces or desktop without the need to go in my living room if it is taken or the need to buy a specific device (like the Vita or anything else) any Windows 10 PC will do. Works with the Hololens too; I'm not really using it but I have fun some time with it :)

- Xbox Play Anywhere... This is starting with few games but I already used it at multiple occasion and it is really nice to know that you can buy one game and play it on all your devices in the house (I have PCs and Xbox Ones)

Those are some reasons... On top I would add the exclusives that are better for my taste.

I mean at the end, everything is about personal preferences anyway.
