I'm seeing a lot of positive reviews about this game, from people who never played the series before and were very surpised at how much they liked it.

That was a really fun review. I take some umbrage with his critique of the graphics. I think they look great. "Looks like a PS3 game"? "Cardboard cutout city buildings"?! WTF? I still think Yakuza 5 still looks very nice. Like an above average looking PS3 game, and this is an obvious improvement over that. Whatever though, Joe's joy was palpable, and I'm a bi ofa Yakuza fanboy. I want this game, and series to get it's props.

Yeah, the game is still based on the older engine since it's also on PS# in Japan. Yakuza 6 has a brand new next gen engine though that looks increadible. Still, I really like the details in these games and I think it looks good as it is.

He really seemed to enjoy himself a lot playing the game constantly, except the first chapter or so.

I did not see that! So thanks. Yes Yakuza 6 is clearly a step up. Even entering and exiting buildings is seamless, with no loading screens. I actually did not know this was still using the old engine. I still say the graphics are really nice though!

Me too. It wasn't too long ago that it took a petition to get Sega to release Yakuza 5 in North America and Europe. Even then we never got a physical release. Nice to see Sega releasing all the new titles in the west. Well, except for Kiwami. Heck, I'd still buy Kenzan! for the PS3 if they released it. :)

I read that Kiwami is being released locally later this year and Yakuza 6 in 2018 :)

Kenzan would've been nice to localized too but I think Sega feared Yakuza was already too 'Japanese' for the rest of the world.
