Guessing because the OS for the Switch is basically going to be nonexistant. It will basically be just a settings and game icons.

Their OS will be on the phone. There you will see who is online, your friends, miiverse (is that gone now?) ect.

Yup Miiverse is gone, also on your other comment I'm not so shure on the whole sharing videos on the App idea because it could go against its purpose of beeing mainly used to get together for chatting but I could see it automatically posting your screenshots so that it can update in real time on what you're currently playing

Well who knows. They did say they will have it do video in the future. Will it be a live stream? A start and stop record button, then post? Or will it randomly take video of "highlights" it deems and post them 'ala Mario Kart 8' replays.

I would hope for teh first. A live stream, so people that do that stuff don't need to use capture cards.

Well, this become less of an issue.Btu I dont understand why the bluetooth headset cant connect to the Switch directly.Hopefully they clear that out on the future.

That seems kind of stupid.... but then again, it can be one of those ideas that can be mindblowing when you try for yourself, so Ill hold judgment.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I ended up smiling and laughing non stop throughout the interview. It didn't necessarily inform but it certainly gave a clearer insight of what is to come. Great interview. Definitely felt better than the usual interviews given game devs and execs

They're likely integrating mobile into their ecosystem to make it easier for players to go between platforms and have them co-exist rather than having them compete like some say, an app is unorthodorx but then any title released on either Switch or mobile can use it and most people already have smart phones.

As I said in the other comment, sounds kind of stupid to at least also not be doable to do that through the Switch itself, but it also can be one of those moves that after playing with it and using it, you think"why the hell no one has done that before?" so Ill hold judgment.

So they're allowing us to use a bluetooth headset with our mobile phones... They're so nice, it's a shame nobody ever thought of that...

I doubt they would do this but you know what would be really smart/interesting?

If part of their Nintendo app for smartphones basically let you stream your smartphone/tablet onto your Switch.

So you could use the apps from your smartphone on your Switch.

They could charge a monthly fee for this app.

THAT would be very smart.Saves baterry(from the screen) of your phone, much better to watch things, etc.

I wonder if you're on to something. There was a report that there's no Netflix app for the Switch at launch either.

This is more like Nintendo trying to differentiate Switch from anything else on the market, and instead of competing, Nintendo is co-opting. No need to think if you're supposed to get this device or some other for a specific function, when one doesn't have it (yet).

Just look at the message boards how fast people attacking Switch are running out of arguments. You can't attack a feature the device doesn't have. Attacking a lack of feature (such as voice chat) that's provided via device you paid, say, 700€ for, is a little harder. Or, think about the lack of power, when Switch has to work in portable mode as well. Or bad battery life, when Switch is a home console you can play on the go.
