So how do you feel about Kaz Hirai's explanation on not revealing PSVR sales?

I will answer your question when you answer both of mine.  I'd like to know what you mean by "taking things at face value" and why you would want people to just automatically believe whatever PR they are fed.

I wouldn't bother here.  This person was so bothered by the fact that MS is being rightfully called out for not releasing hardware numbers that they made a thread with a clickbait title about PSVR.

And by taking things at face value you mean..not calling out the obvious BS?

Why would anyone just willingly accept BS?

They don't release the numbers because it is good PR to not release the numbers. They would get beaten up every single time they did because Sony would always be so far ahead. That isn't bad. Making up some phony excuse as PR is bad.

So how do you feel about Kaz Hirai's explanation on not revealing PSVR sales?

So what you're telling me is that Microsoft should be called out on not revealing the XB1's numbers, correct?

... or is this the usual SonyToo(TM) statement?

I thought I heard him say this a long time ago, so I checked the article...he said this nearly a year ago, in March 2016 I think. Did nobody else hear this back then? I wonder if there was a similar discussion here about it back then.

I don't feel anything. How do you feel about every VR maker not releasing headset numbers?

Indifferent. I'm not a VR investor.

Well if Microsoft is being called out for a practice, as aLkaLiNe I think will agree, is widespread, why not Sony too?

We do want to be fair, right?

Sure, then we should also condemn Oculus and Valve. Gotta apply the same standards to everyone, right?

What I'm trying to say is it's not unusual or odd that Sony doesn't release VR headset numbers because that market is infant and literally no headset maker is releasing numbers. So, no numbers for VR is currently the norm.

What isn't and hasn't been the norm is reporting monthly active users in place of sell in numbers for consoles which is why people are looking at Microsoft with a magnifying glass.

Do you understand?

Also, when MS released its November NPD PR, it literally compared the amount of active users on November 26, 2016 vs. November 26, 2015, which was the weirdest thing ever.

Because they're bad.

That's too obvious of an explanation. Has to be something else.

Phil Spencer is secretly a super villain. He has a forked tongue and eats babies for breakfast.

But considering VR's infancy, wouldn't VR sales numbers be even more critical than console numbers? PSVR is an add-on for the PS4 and if there is to be significant third party development for the PSVR, I think you'll agree it's important that it sell well.

I understand. What I don't understand is people jumping down Phil's throat.
