Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Switch Lacks Pack-In Title Because It's $299, Says Reggie Fils-Aime

And it's $299 because instead of making a home console Nintendo decided that everybody NEEDS a handheld...

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

He has to be kidding. From the article:

"we wanted to be at $299. Certainly, lower is always better, but at a $349 or $399 price point, we just didn't feel that was the right place to be. So we start there. And then it's all about, what's going to be included? Obviously the inclusion of the two Joy-Con, critically important; all the right cables, the dock, critically important."

Well, no sh*t you had to include everything you need to use the f*cking machine!

If that's the best excuse he/Nintendo can come up with, they should simply say the truth: "We aren't going to give anything for free when we can sell it".

Nope, they decided an hybrid is a good idea to have a better place on the market, pretty simple.

Reggie seems to think that people are complaining that it's too cheap and tries to explain why, he has this completely backwards. That man needs to go back to school, he's said so many ridiculous things ever since the Wii U reveal.

Um...yes. If you want a new Nintendo console but don't want a handheld you're shit out of luck. You're choices are to either spend $299 on a "console" that wouldn't cost anywhere near that if it didn't have to be portable, or don't get a Nintendo system.

If you dont like the system then dont buy it but that level of entitlement is ridiculous, is their product and they are thinking on the market as a whole, wether it satisfy your particular needs or not is up to you to decide.

Shouldn't that be the reason to have at least one pack game? Logic?

I take it just as PR talk like usual.

Why is Nintendo releasing games that they know are going to flop? I don't understand this?

The ironic thing is, if Wii Sports wasn't a pack in, i'd probably sell super well anyways. Cause guys...let's be honest here. Wii Sports was actually REALLY fun.

Wii Sports > Super Mario Galaxy(and 2)

Another bad move on Nintendo's part. a pack-in would go a long way towards raising the value of the purchase, even if that pack-in was 1-2 Switch, which looks like a neat tech demo, if nothing else.
