Sunshine had a big jump visually although that's a given as GC could go blow for blow with Xbox every now and then. Shame it was a far weaker game imo.

Thats gonna suck. Playing mario with someone has a huge difference in enjoyment for me, than playing by myself.

I think there was a bigger jump from Galaxy to Galaxy 2

Super Mario 64 is still the greatest Mario game of all time. In my opinion anyway, but it hasn't aged as well as those others.
