how much would cost a portable tablet with the power of the xbox one? think about that just for a second.

Tegra Volta. Built at 16nm Finfet. - This year.
Nintendo should have been able to get such a chip earlier than the rest of the market if they deal and work with nVidia. (The chip has likely already taped out.)

With that said, if anyone assumes an Xbox One in the palm of your hand with the current chips on the market, then their assumption is without merit, that was never going to happen.
But there are chips which are "close enough". Which would have been fine.

and how much would cost, I'm not saying that we don't have the tech, I'm talking about the price.

Lol girl. Something inside me told me already that your only rant would be the waiting ;)

well honestly I don't have other problem with the system, cheaper would be cool but $300 is fair enough for a powerful handheld. Paid online? like MS and Sony, we don't even know the price and details or how bad or good could be. I like the launch lineup for this year... so yeah the wait. Expensive accessories would be a problem but for me the switch is a handheld so I don't need any of that.

Yeah, I get your point, since ive been reading you on several ranting threads. What would be the price for a handheld with that power if M$ or Sauny make it? Itll be pricey for sure, worth it? maybe but still pricey.

$300 is ok, for what its offering I guess, but I have this damn habit of getting 4 controls for the PS3, 4 for the PS4, 2 for the Xbone, 2 Pro and 2 Gamecube-like for the WiiU even tho im the only one who uses all those consoles... hahaha I have no friends that live nearby to come and play but I still get full set of peripherals for no reason. So peripherals in the Switch being pricey is a low blow for me.

The SoC is a relatively small price of the pie, Nintendo and nVidia have agreements in place for pricing that other companies are likely not privvy to.
It should be competitively priced with Tegra X1 in terms of fabrication.

Besides, the Switch is already expensive for the hardware you get. (6.2", 720P screen? Common Nintendo. This is 2017.)
The least Nintendo could have done is offered the handheld the best performance possible for the form factor if they were going to cheap out in other aspects but still charge a premium price.

Pay to play is the biggest issue. Hardware prices will eventually lower and the games will eventually show up, but pay to play is forever.

The thing that also likely bothers people as they go headfirst into this portable market is there really are phones and tablets that are far better than this system even at a comparable price. You are literally paying more money for a worst portable product only because this one is the one that can play Nintendo games. People always talk about home consoles how Nintendo games would be better on say a playstation. But now its also true that Nintendo games would be better on even cheaper tablets and phones if you could just bluetooth connect whatever controller you want to it. So its like they are keeping their brands hostage from gamers on inferior hardware throughout.

joy con, pro controller, and especially that outrageous docking station price. Just awful

Sincerely, never tought of this one. Its a very valid point that i havent read in anyother thread yet.

Even if you think hard, looks like the system will remain the same with no posible new features, reducing its lifespan. No equivalent of 4k, or blu ray play, or VR or HDR (at least not in the quality of its competition)
