Forums - Microsoft - People Worrying about Nintendo when they should be worrying about Microsoft [Opinion]

I definitely think people are worried about microsft. The only difference is MS have a lot money behind their company so it if they really wanted to keep going despite bad performances they could.

But yeah both Microsoft and Nintendo are seeing big declines this gen. I'd be worried for both.

But has it? Because so far its best selling game is Black Ops 3 which is at 4.6 million whereas the Wii U's best selling game, Mario Kart 8 is at 7.5 (just from quick look at this websites charts dont no if 100% up to date or accurate)

I always find this argument funny. How much software has XB1 sold in total compared to Wiiu? If it's more, then a few games selling well on wiiu clearly aren't enough. As for BO3 being its most successful, Halo 5 shipped 5m in its first 3 months, so these numbers aren't accurate (which is still besides the point).

Most of the Wii U sales will have been first party though, Microsoft only receives royalties from third party sales, not the full $50-60.

This website has a game-total tool:

Xbox One has sold 163 million games
Wii U has sold 84 million games.

Well... I only give one example, But if you want another; Pokemon Sun and Moon sold 7.2 million copies in ONE WEEK.

Besides I stated they might not be accurate and say otherwise if so, I only used the charts from this website.

Though 3DS's is at 238.73 million and PS4 is at 309.56 million, not really as good when your comparing them all together. Xbox One is almost half of Playstation 4, No wonder PS4 is gaining all the exclusives which is just going to widen that gap.

Despite all the shade from our Xbox community, I think this has made a good point. I would go into detail, but it seems like it already has quite a few times.

Yep, to be expected. If you click on the "tie-ratio" link, you'll see that the Xbox One, PS4, and Wii U all sell between 6-7 games per console. So the total amount of games sold will be proportional to the number of consoles sold.

Good point that I keep in mind when I look at sales. What's also worth keeping in mind, though, is that MS first party games have also sold a considerable number of copies so far, so 3rd party sales are not the only thing they get. And let's not forget the DLC of those 1st party games and the Season Passes.

Overall, I don't know which company has made more money in the home console market, but I suspect that xb1's software sales are so much higher than wiiu's that those extra 1st party sales of wiiu can't compete with xb1's 3rd party sales. Also, gold subscriptions have been very successful for MS all these years.

Mere deflection won't improve people's perception of Nintendo

This thread is a joke. Nintendo fanboy flails in desperation in order to divert criticism and concern off the Switch and rest of Nintendo.

I infact think myself that nobody should worry about Nintendo and the Switch will will be a relative success with 29M sold AT LEAST.

But the fact that youre trying to deflect the worrying and concern to an conteder just yells out Nintendo fanboy.

Lets do some math. 3ds came out in march 2011 and wii u came out in november 2012.
Xbox One was 2013 November. Its only fair if you decract the two and a half years of 3ds sales and the first year of Wiiu sales. According to Vgchartz, YOUR source, 3ds had sold 35.8 million by the week the X1 launched. The wii u had sold 3.9 million by then. Thats 35 million nintendo consoles sold since November 2013. Anyone with common sense knows it costs more to make, market, advertise, and develop for two consoles than one. On top of that xbox earns quite a bit of money off xbox live gold, and  spends jackshit for making first party games. I rest my case

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

No one is worried about the xbox because no one cares about it on this site (well a few do obviously). The PS4 is killing it and Nintendo did another WTF moment.

Even a lot of Nintendo gamers are shocked by it. I know I am.

TBH I still think this concept was well in development before the new president took over, so it isn't even his vision and was too late to can the project.

Man, Microsoft's handheld is doing terrible.

I think the "Nintendo is doomed" talk is silly too, but this isn't a logical comparison.
