Yeah but those deals are often reflective of drop in price of the parts/tech that goes into it. Nintendo...they're turning this into a form of art. PS4 was reasonably priced when it launched, the Switch simply isn't. I agree, that's any company's strategy to cut costs if they can, but I think Nintendo is doing this deliberately. |
Oh yes, I agree. But Nintendo is selling this at a profit, so if things get rough or they simply want to push Switch harder in the holidays, they have room to "dance".I would even go as far to say that they could sell at 250 without losing money. But yeah, hopefully we get some great deals the holidays

I am waiting for $249.99 with Mario Odyssey. Hopefully it is this fall. If they hold strong at $299.99 like they did with WiiU, then I won't be joining. Nintendo hardware is just not worth $299.99, and I would argue it isn't worth $249.99 either, but with a game I will accept it.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhh yeaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh
The part I disagree with you is the one where you delusionaly think that the Switch will only reach a 250 dollars with a game bundle at the end of the lifespan lol

I'll admit I went too far but we won't be seeing them until holiday 2018 or later.
I know people are stating that the value isn't there, but everything tech wise that is packed into this device makes it worth $300. Now that might be more than some were expecting, but Nintendo would be better off packing in software than lowering the price of the system to $250 that soon.

That I can agree with depending on how well the Switch sells

All people here are convinced the console is going to have terrible sales this first year, yet we don't have a real reliable indicator until the console is out for a few weeks.
I don't think the console is going to do miracles but I wouldn't bet already it's going to do WiiU levels bad.
If sales aren't terrible I don't see why Nintendo should price cut less than 9 months form release. A bundle on holiday season is a given but a price cut is most likely going to happen next year.
| Acevil said: I took the leap forward, because I could see price cut happening, to $250 and that doing nothing to CAD Price. Calling it market forecasting on my end, it worked for me with the PS4, where it was cheaper to buy day 1 than it was day 364. |
Unfortunately, I think this is exactly what will happen. I was thinking of trying to get a Switch over the summer, even though the first game I want for it is Mario Odyssey, in order to eliminate the possibility of a $500 Switch by the end of the year.
Also OT, there will definitely be a price cut in the holidays unless Switch sales are really high.
That's why I'm skipping the first year of Switch.
