Yup, not getting it then. I had my fair share of playtime with Mario Kart 8 and $60 for a game I have to pay for online and battle mode, and "New" characters that really don't do anything different... no thanks. I'll wait for a full fledged Smash Kart/Mario Kart 9.
I already knew this from their website, but its better than straight up port. At least they included all the DLC new Characters and Vehicle options and giving the Battle Mode a complete overhaul. The main reason I want it is to be able a Mario Kart game which looks that good on the go.
Ok, not buying it then. It will get the selects treatment down the line and that when I might get it. I'm not paying 60$ for a proper battle mode.
Ninendos price policy with the Switch is atrocious so far.
If all they do is add the 2 DLC packs to the 32 tracks, then i'll no longer be rebuying it.
I was thinking about it when i heard the rumour - that said 16 tracks were now.
Ok now that's very surprising to me. I didn't expect that at all. I thought for sure they would add new tracks when we saw the new playabble character (King Boo or whatever his name is). But they're really going to charge us for all the upcoming new tracks through DLC? Not a single one included in the base game?
If I already owned MK8 (which I do, but I haven't played it...) I would not be pleased by this.
How do you who owned and played MK8 feel about this?
What are you talking about? The Deluxe has all 48 tracks. It even shows it in the thumbnail of the video you posted. Did you watch the video btw? You bought the game without the system??? How did you even buy the DLC? So you bought the base game without the dlc but you somehow feel jilted that you haave to buy the game with the content you didn't even pay for originally?
Why would I be bothered by this? I already played all the courses. I don't have anything to whine about. Either I buy it or don't.
There have been so many ports/remasters people have defended this gen, including ports that are missing DLC content. What I find humorous is that people are putting Nintendo in a damned if you do damned don't situation at the same time withhout thinking things truogh:
-People are complaining battle mode should be in the original game
-People are complaing about the lack of original content
As a Wii U owner, I'd just rather they add battle mode and inklings as a 15 dollar add on.
But, this is the way the industry is now, so whatever. I feel I got a fair amount of content for my purchase of MK8, and I probably just won't be buying this.
Volterra_90 said: The game is made to attract new gamers to the console. I mean, it's an enhanced port of MK8. I think the new features are battle mode, and the revamped item system.
This. I'd consider these Wii U ports similar to games like TLOU, GTA V, Tomb Raider ports to PS4. They're not big new games, but they'll appeal to anyone who didn't yet play the game on the last gen console. Hopefully they will also drop in price to reflect that.
