Forums - Gaming - Should Nintendo release a handheld only pack for 199$

Removing the dock doesn't save Nintendo $100, therefor to sell at $199.99 they would have to take a loss. That dock is $20 to manufactuer if that.

After seeing how ugly games are on dock ( + bad framerate for Zelda on dock ) compared to Switch screen, i vote for this.

Thé dock should only bé à bonus, its à tool , and i think à lot of people will mostly play not on TV when theyll see thé visualis différence

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

They should and they probably will next year to properly replace the 3DS. They could even remove the joy cons and leave them as optional purchases so they can sell the main console as cheap as possible.

I'd say most likely what you will see a year or two down the road is:

Switch hybrid (what we have now just cheaper) $249
Switch handheld (minus the dock and half controller, maybe even a newer smaller version) $149
Switch home (A beefy version of the Nvidia Shield console) $399

PS1   - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.

PS2  - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.

PS3   - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.

PS4   - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.

PRO  -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.

PS5   - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.

PRO  -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.

I`d rather a home console only pack...

That would require they do R&D for a new system design.... the otherway around just requires them to remove stuff from the package.

It also allows all those that just buy the handheld version, to become potential buyers of accessorys if they lateron feel they want to be able to play on the tv as well.

Just without the dock, yes I would be interesting in getting that

and can buy the dock separately if I want later

I would suggest a $250 variant that switches the joycons and charging grip for a pro controller

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Does it? Can`t require that much R&D to package it without the joycons surely?

I thought you where talking about a new version like a PS TV was to the PS Vita.

Like a small black box, instead of a tablet + dock.

And a normal pro controller.

That box would require abit of work yes.
