lol I just saw this on gamefaqs. Hilarious reactions to how splatoon would sell. The poster WonkyKong was comparing the reaction on boards to splatoon to the reactions on boards to ARMS.

Yup. Pretty funny. Reminds me of WiiU initial Sales Predictions.

Arms looks ok, it may be very fun but I really don't think it has Splatoon levels of appeal at all, still that doesn't mean it can't do well, I still need to see more.

Going with this, I think it will be great to look back at all those that said Switch wouldn't outsell Wii U as well. (I don't think Switch will do crazy numbers, but this one is special)

Never underestimate starved single console owners.

Maybe it was. But I don't think quality or enjoyment have much to do with sales.

I suspect the number of people predicting it will sell less than wiiu is significantly lower than the number of people who predicted wiiu would sell more than 15m (I'm sure it was well over 90%).

Currently I think it seems to be at least half this site. So I will give you that, but Splatoon was extra special, because I think 100% didn't expect it to potientially be the best selling console title In Japan this generation, outselling something like Final Fantasy XV. 

Well Hardware in Japan did rise because of it. So it sometimes does?
