I think Super Mario Odyssey is a single-player game. Maybe there's two-person co-op, but I'd be shocked if there was four-player co-op. Anyway, the system comes with two controllers. If you want two more, you have to pay $80, yes. Surely you paid $40 a pop for all those Wii remotes? |
Nah, just one, I bought the others refurbished a few years later. Which you can do with the Switch too ofcourse. It's just that I had 4 player co-op right out of the box without any extra costs on the WiiU. Got spoiled.
But true, 4 new Wii-motes + 4 nun chucks + rechargeable batteries, Joy-cons are a better deal.
The games. Primarily Mario Odyssey. Also ARMS, 12Switch (yes for reals), and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. HD Rumbles also.

From where you took that Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was a budget title?Just because of the artstyle? |
What makes it seem like it's anything else. I mean the fact that it's being pumped out in 2 years speaks volumes.
I guess I'd say Fire Emblem Warriors. MK and 3D Mario looked nice. That is all the positive I have to say for now.

Couldnt Monolith already had a small team working on it?Or that with XCX, they learned how to better develop HD games?Or if it is a holiday title, it would actually make a 2.5 year development, more than enough to develop a high budget title(though I am also skeptical in making into this year)? They went on a hiring spree after XCX, so they also have more manpower.
I dont agree with you, it is within the realm of possibilities that they made an AAA game within this time. And I mean, its XC 2 for crying out loud. They wont go cheap on it.
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Super mario odyssey: never been more excited for a mario game.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2: the fact that this is a sequel to one of the best jrpg's of all time not only does it makes me excited but it sets my expectations very high and I'm sure monolith softh will deliver.

Coulda fooled me. Watch XC2, then watch Mario and Zelda. There's an obvious difference in how the look, animations, textures, ect. And they all share an animated aet design.
The price.
