I agree about the pride thing, that probably has something to do with it. Me, I just want this to happen for selfish reasons. I want all my games, friends, and online subs (Nintendo has one now) on one machine. I guess I'll admit, one downside for me is: there's less chance of some cool new thing, like how cool Wii was. I loved playing motion games with friends. Regarding those games: I don't know/care if they're among the best mobile games, but I do know I don't like them. I tried to get into Pokemon Go, Miitomo, and also checked out videos of Mario Run. They're not for me, nor is mobile gaming in general. I dunno how that relates to this topic, though. And yeah, Nintendo is in a much better position that Sega was. |
That's actually one of the reasons I hope they would actually go 3rd party and not full mobile. If they go mobile they'll be focusing on casuals almost 100%, which means they'll most likely make their games smaller and more linear. Or on autopilot with a few screen taps from the player. Sure, they'll find success there, but 3rd party would allow them to continue making the games the same as they have been. Only larger, if they wish, and with incredible graphics at 1080p/60 fps. 4K on Pro/Scorpio and next gen consoles.

Success is irrelevant to what I said. I said it looks fun, and would not be replicable on the other two consoles. Success doesn't matter. The Dreamcast wasn't a success yet was an amazing console filled to the brim with quality, innovative software. I am sure the latest Britney Spears album is a success, yet I'll still gladly say no thanks. Wii U failed because of software and marketing, not gimmicks. Either way, not relevant to how fun the game looks or how possible it might be utilizing niche, optional extra hardware on other platforms. They can make great games without gimmicks on their own platforms. They have each gen, no reason they won't this gen. |

Not true, but w/e.
Interesting you name the Dreamcast. Hmm, what happened after the Dreamcast?
