This is a nice perk for those who pay for online service (another cancer we can thank M$ for), but throwing games away to this digital bargain bins is making those gamers too entitled and now people complain about Nintendo for not treating their legendary gaming catalog like cheap garbage. We know you will get Watchdogs 2 for free next month, that doesn't give you the right to get Super Mario 64 as a gift.

Nintendo would actually do much better if they gave away more games.
As of now, I still can't even buy metroid fusion.

Nintendo has a huge problem internally with regard to a healthy business environment. I know, I know, everyone is gunna come in and say something like, "theyre the only ones who make money", or "the wii, etc etc".

Despite Nintendo going a long way to promote loyalty and customer interaction, there is a lot they fail on in this department.
The reason why people give away games is because the more you simply have people playing the system, the more they will be likely to buy something. It's like dota and league. It's free, and the bans are sparse, because they want you playing the game, because the more you play, the more you will buy a skin.

Nintendo is too old school in some aspects of gaming.

Giving away part of their game is how id Software made millions of dollars off of Doom.

When you get a "free" game as a part of your subscription it isn't really free now, is it?

Nintendo will make money off the subs themselves. Nintendo wants to take the money and not give the games. Its like having your cake and eating it too.

I am really excited about buying Super Mario Bros. for the 20th time in my life. Thanks for this privilege of giving you my money, Nintendo!
Now we just need to be done with those pesky used games.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

NNID: Slarvax - Steam: Slarvax - Friend Code:  SW 7885-0552-5988

You get a free portable version with every Switch game you buy.

Bargain.

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

I knew that this was about the Switch. It's silly and bad that Nintendo is going to charge for online and try to pass off getting to play an old ass game for a month as a reasonable alternative to PS+ or GWG.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

It is actually. IF you "buy two" and get "one free" you got that one free. You didn't pay for that one.

When the end result value is higher than the cost paid - that resulting value is free.

If you paid someone $20 dolars for a jacket, and found a $50 dollar bill in it. That $50 dollar bill is free. You paid nothing for it.

No, you did pay for the "free" one in a B2G1 deal. You're not really getting a free one, you're just getting a 33% discount.

The jacket analogy is pretty bad since Nintendo isn't giving you a free gift, they're figuring it into the cost and attractiveness of their subscription. So it's more like if you told me that the jacket was $20 but there's also something in the pocket, and I think, "Oh, snap! It's Super Mario Bros 3!" and buy your jacket... only it turns out to be Urban Champion instead. WAAAAH!

But at least you'll only be stuck with Urban Champion for one hellish month before they take it away. So I guess their stinginess has an upside.

That was pretty much a demo...
