Nintendo would actually do much better if they gave away more games.
As of now, I still can't even buy metroid fusion.
Nintendo has a huge problem internally with regard to a healthy business environment. I know, I know, everyone is gunna come in and say something like, "theyre the only ones who make money", or "the wii, etc etc".
Despite Nintendo going a long way to promote loyalty and customer interaction, there is a lot they fail on in this department.
The reason why people give away games is because the more you simply have people playing the system, the more they will be likely to buy something. It's like dota and league. It's free, and the bans are sparse, because they want you playing the game, because the more you play, the more you will buy a skin.
Nintendo is too old school in some aspects of gaming.
