Forums - Nintendo - Is the switch lack of RAM the reason why Nintendo is locking online features to smartphones?

Let's wait and see if this is actually the case with all online features. I just have a hard time believing Nintendo would be this stupid. But then again it's Nintendo. But I'll wait to be sure

Wait, what?

From Nintendo's wording of things it seems a lot of online features are used/access with an application. And it's not clear whether it's the only way to access them on or additional one. Nintendo needs to clear this up asap

It sounds absolutely insane to me that they are charging for online "services". Literally the only thing you get is the ability to play online. You don't need a Switch to communicate on a smartphone!

Playing Xenoblade 2 before I buy Xenoblade 3 (otherwise I couldn't wait to play 3).

Can they announce a new Fire Emblem? A remake of Genealogy or Tellius would suffice !

Not sure if it is a limitation or an innovation. It could be more convenient to just do it on our phones, I'm not quite sure how it works.

How could it possibly be more convenient than simply plugging a headset in to the bottom of your controller?

Especially for those who have phones that won`t be compatible (Windows phone guys probably gonna get screwed over again...)

How could the thing I already do all my communication on be convenient to do more communication? Is that a question? lol

Wait what you need a smart phone to access all the online features that is pretty dumb.

Ignore, I read page wrong.

What are you talking about? It has voice chat. Go read the NS page on its online service.

The Switch has a App for your smart phone, where you can login with your Nintendo ID (if you have payed for online) and use your smart phone, to create parties, voice chat ect ect.

Its probably the same App that has the parental controll in it. Nintendo expect you to hook up your switch to your phone.

There are apps that already do everything this "service" does, and more, for free.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Wow. They need to clarify this asap if they pretend to ask for money.
