Is the switch lack of RAM the reason why Nintendo is locking online features to smartphones?

How could it possibly be more convenient than simply plugging a headset in to the bottom of your controller?

Especially for those who have phones that won`t be compatible (Windows phone guys probably gonna get screwed over again...)
