So X wasn't 2? XP

X was more off a spin-off, this looks to be a direct sequel of the original

I guess I'm one of the first ones to claim the game feels almost ready for release? It looks alright, except on that part where the blonde girl touches the tree, that thing looks rough, but it reminds me of Chronicles X in many aspects, that game looked very unpleasant quite constantly due to low res textures and other graphical details here and there.

The art style is another story... It looks generic as fuck, I'm afraid to say, like something stripped out from a Tales of game, and by that I mean that this game looks like it lacks the uniqueness and personality that even the original game and even X hold. Monolith Soft went safe here, or maybe the idea of the "outsourced company" isn't too exaggerated after all. I'm going to give a little credit because at least it looks like this game won't have lifeless dolls that X had, hopefully they show footage of it tomorrow to verify that.

As for the game releasing this year, well, like I said, it looks like something by now, so maybe a Japanese release in 2017 is indeed a thing. Either way, don't think we'd have to wait more than 2018.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

It could be like when Majora's Mask was made in a year and released two years after 1998's Ocarina of Time.

I can see that happening tbh, they already have an engine for open world HD games through XCX some more focus can go to creating the world and characters which would speed things up in the 2 year period.

Switch has 3 open world games off the bat with Zelda, Odyssey and XC2.

And Skyrim so that's 4 really. But yeah it means we should have a new Zelda game much much quicker, and a new mario. Now they finally have some decent HD engines up and running we can have Lego city, donkey kong TF, Mario, Zelda, xenoblade sequels to look forward to

Sweet.

Game looks way better than XBX, which was quite ugly with its character models.

It does look better, but the character models and overworld look a bit jarring to me. A bit too anime for my tastes. The overworld looks a lot better though.

WTF?This is great news! I was thinking holiday 2019 because that would be 4 years after the western release of XCX and MS usually takes 4 years to make a xenoblade game. What gives? They must have began production way before XCX came out.Maybe they're now big enough to handle multiple projects at the same time.

Think of it like this, Monolith already has the engine from XCX for a large open world game, the Switch in portable mode is like twice the performance of the Wii U, they most likely are even helping to work on Zelda as well making them one third of the development team. The engine is one of the longest parts of development due to getting everything running, so with that in mind all they needed to concentrate on for 2 years was creating the characters, story and world which would speed up the development cycle and that's assuming no work was started before X released in Japan 2 and a half years ago.

This bodes well for the next triple A zelda after BOTW then, maybe they could get it done in 3 years instead of over 5.

Only need to focus on one platform as well.

This probably takes place at least 500 years later, or in a different part of Mira. At least the beginning of it. If the game is coming out next year, no doubt they're reusing the old Mira map as well to save time.

Curious how the world had no enemy and very few features though. I also don't like the fact that the main characters are kids.
