Forums - Microsoft - Confirmed: Scalebound Cancelled

Here's hoping Sony picks up Platinum Games for the PS4 exclusive "Bound in Scales".

The working title could be "Totally Not Scalebound (But Seriously It's Totally Scalebound)"

When I did a game by game review of what was shown last E3, Scalebound was my 2nd worst grade. Only Final Fantasy was worse. The game just hasn't looked good at all in demos.

Maybe they spread themselves too thin, like Bilbo Baggins. Butter scraped over too much bread. Some of their games this gen have just been awful.

If FF was your worst then i would have loved this game.  I was never going to get an x1 so im not bummed but i genuinely feel for the xbox gamers that we're waiting for this.

I find it very sad. But good news has it for me personally: I do not need an Xbox anymore. And "Nier Automata" of Platinum games will appear in March (PS4) and this will surely be a hit :) "Scalebound" fans should take a look at "Nier Automata". And then have fun.

Ok, we got it that you love your PS4.Move along.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Project Spark did release though. Perhaps instead of an 'X' it should have a thumbs down because it was crap

1st party for home consoles this gen is trash.

MS: Cancel announced games
Sony: Delay, Delay, Delay
Nintendo: Move to Switch.

Makes the delays seem less impactful, when gamers today can actually play The Last Guardian.

You forgot the part where MS shuts down the studio after cancelling a game.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

SONY is NOT gonna step in and save this.

They already have have Hideo Kojima and Death Stranding on their hands.

Plus Microsoft owns the IP.

Do they though?

"When asked if the Scalebound IP is owned by Microsoft or by developer Platinum, a Microsoft spokesperson simply said "we do not comment on the details of our business agreements with partners," and provided no additional comment when asked if Microsoft will seek to work with Platinum on a separate project in the future."

Predicted 15+ million lifetime-sales for God of War:

One of my most anticipated games for this year. I'm incredibly disappointed. All I want is a game where I get to have and order a fire-breathing badass dragon companion around. FFS I'm pissed.

Come on Nintendo, step in!! Lets have another Bayonetta 2 moment

that moment is called Bayonetta 3

I'd expect something of Scalebound's design to influence Bayo 3. It's something we see all the time - Platinum likes to reintroduce and integrate their existing work together into new games.

Rather than Gommorah being simply a QTE - it becomes a beast you can actually direct and control

To be fair Project Spark did come out. It just didn't last very long.  Also I thought Phantom dust was being brought back? Like cancelled then revived.

Phantom Dust remake is still in development also and crackdown is still coming.
