I think red is a terrible primary color for a website. Such a strain on your eyes.

I think it great they are backing back to whole red Nintendo thing, I missed that in Wii and Wii U era.

Corporate identity is no reason to hurt my eyes. Here, look at these.

http://www.coca-colacompany.com/

http://www.ferrari.com/

Two companies closely tied to the color red. Yet their websites refrain from giving me eye cancer while at the same time retain their corporate identity.

Looks really good to be honest. And smart to stay away from the Wii brand.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I think Nintendo tries to give a message it's back from the "gray" Nintendo logo times to "red" times, not that much trying to capture you your eye cancer. Considering they used the red logo for the NES, that's fine with me.

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

It is, but it's also the first color that catches your eye. Marketing-wise, it's a very clever design choice. And since I assume Switch's boxarts will be red, the website needs to be in line with the color.

Why would a website need to catch your eye when you're already on it? It just makes it hard to find anything when all you get is red color screaming in your face.

Told you, it's only to be in line with the marketing choices they made for the console.

Lol why do they still show off the Wii U? Website looks fine to me. The games they show off with the Switch will determine my excitement for it. If they show 3d Mario, Metroid and a Donkey Kong (or F-Zero) I will be VERY impressed and considering purchasing a Switch.

Because for all its failures, its still a Nintendo product. While it still sells even if the tiniest bit, they will show it there.

The color red has been proven to evoke anger in people. Switch rage incoming.

My eyes aren't strained.

Looks good. Hope this is an indicator of what the Switch's UI will look like. This is great.

See my other post. You don't need to be eye cancer to have a corporate identity. You can easily be red without being too red. It's just bad web design.

Yeah I saw it after I wrote this one. Can't speak for Nintendo's motivations, but it's the Nintendo pre-Wii era red. Probably a testament to the change of direction they are making, or something in the likes of ''going back to roots'' which would explain why it's so present and vivid. I can see others appreciate it, if it's eye-cancer to you I suggest you go on the NA one

Edit: @vivster - I think the problem is the Super Mario Run ad, once you scroll down only the menu bars are red, which is 100x more bearable.
