It is going to suck with great force.

From my personal view either way. I'm not an Uncharted fan and i cant think of any actor who is even close to a charming young Harrison Ford.

I actually have some weird feeling that this movie is going to be amazing and kinda willing to bet on it. Of course that all comes down to who they cast as Nathan Drake. I think with the right cast, this movie is going to not just be the best video game movie. I think it's going to be a solid film period. Maybe a 7.5-8/10 on IMBD and RT might hold a solid 60-70%. Which would be outrageous for a video game film.

My faith lies more on the actors than it is on the script. Naughty Dog is supporting the script.... right? Because the original film pitch with Wahlberg sounded terrible.

do we have any details on that? because i would love to read what was going to happen in the movie

Yes there was some details being talked about it. Wahlberg was going to be Drake and Sully was going to be played by Robert De Niro. I believe it was confirmed that Sully and Nathan would be related by blood. Rather it was father son, or Uncle and Nephew the plot would revolve around a family of treasure hunters in some kind of crime underworld scene.

It very much sounded like a typic Mark Wahlberg film, and not not one of his good ones either.

I made a post months ago on a casting list. I think Chris Pratt should stick to his words when he said doesn't want the role because it's too much like Star Lord. He doesn't look like Drake. He has the charisma, but it's not quite Drake. It's a little left, or maybe right of centered. Close but no dice.

This guy however, is not only a talented actor who is making his way up. He's teased the role for over a year and started quitting down on it. He's worked with Sony. He's cheap, but talented, madly passionate and is kind of a real life Nathan Drake. The sarcasm is on que. He's also go a lot of good acting experience and he can age with the role. The only problem is the eye color imo.

As for Elena, if Emily can't play her. Why not Maggie Grace or Zoey Deutch with blonde hair. They both contain a natural Elena look and act to them. Sully will be hard to do. JK Simons is too old now and doesn't fit the look, but damn he's got the class act! Bruce Campbell I'm 50/50 on. Harrison Ford would be quire ironic and could work if he loosens up a bit. I'm actually stumped with Sully because that's a nail that needs to be hit on the head.

- A video game-based movie
+ ...the series is already very cinematic
+ ...and the characters are well-written and fun
- ...but its also derivative of Indiana Jones movies

Yeah, I've no idea how this will turn out.

I don't know about this. Nolan North will always be Nathan Drake to me.

hmm that guy could be a good Drake, dont think i seen him before in a movie or on tv, but he certainly looks the part, and has body language similar to drake, he just needs to beef up some more muscle though.

as for elena, emily needs to play her, she looks the part (almost perfectly, as no doubt she is refrenced when creating the model). but she is also a great actress.

It will suck but Im sure some of you losers will still like it. Some of you people enjoyed batman vs superman right?

With big names it will do well. Without it it won't. Should make for a fun movie though. Uncharted is very much suited for the movie world.

He used to do TV but recently moved over to movies. He has a couple coming out really soon, after that I'm not sure. But he's pretty taltented and is known for being easy to work with and he's already proven himself in the MCU by playing multiple personality's at will, even in the same scene. So out of all the fan casting and potential show runners. He's earned my vote pretty darn well. He hasn't disapointed me with a role yet. He's got a Yale certificate, and he can inject great humor and even drive a show forward when the script dips into the crap end. The movie so going to need to suck double hard for it to be bad if he's Drake.

Most gamers here probably know him as this guy!

An uncharted movie is pretty much the most unnecessary thing ever. I mean the game is nothing else than a hollywood blockbuster transformed into a game. And now they want to transform that back into a movie? Why? That's like Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game. Yes, it existed, but it sucked and nobody wanted it!

Unless they made a David Cage movie based on his "games"
