Well if you`re safe... no reason not to post more hentai then? |
LOL, I don't even think I'm allowed to link that thread on this site anymore. But maybe next April Fools
Though I assume the mods will know better next time.

Ah, so I guess I'm safe then as long as I officially have the NHL thread |
You act like thats a good comparison..... *runs away

Someone needs to explain the Kerotan ban to me. Is any comment that incites negative responses from Nintendo fans baiting now?

Seconded.

The level of downplaying he displayed is trolling and it shouldn't really matter if it incites negative responses or not. His posts were verifiably rubbish and deliberate. It's a situation that is very much comparable to complaining that an open world game runs at 30 fps. The poster in question doesn't leave much room for doubt that he is trying to test how much bullshit he can get away with. |
Last time I checked talking bullshit isn't a bannable offense. It should be, but it isn't.
Downplaying and exaggerating certain developments with console manufacturers is this forum's main source of threads and posts, so I fail to see how that post was suddenly over the line. It was neutral and in no way aggressive or snarky.
I mean I've said on multiple occasions that the Switch needs to sell at least as much as 3DS and Wii U combined for me to consider it a success. There is nothing wrong with stating that.

You are correct that downplaying and spinning takes a long time to lead to a moderation, but Kerotan happens to be a habitual offender, so it's not an isolated incident that led to the moderation. It's one thing to say that Switch needs to match 3DS and Wii U lifetime sales, but matching both systems right out of the gate is a different matter and comes with the obvious catch that two separate consoles have the advantage of two separate launches where ownership overlap is likely. That's one reason why Kerotan's posts were not neutral. Another reason is that he said that Switch is struggling to keep up with the 3DS as if that would be a bad thing; keep in mind that Switch is actually ahead, so it's negative spin. Add that Switch has maintained its RRP while the 3DS needed a 10,000 yen price cut and it's clear that the correct conclusion is that it's actually the 3DS which is struggling to keep up with Switch. Another reason is that Kerotan can't stop gloating about how the PS4 is tracking slightly ahead of the PS3, which he also did in this week's Media Create thread; this constitutes irrefutable evidence of a double standard when judging Nintendo and Sony consoles. |
Valid points. But by that logic certain Nintendo fans should be routinely banned as well since they're doing the exact same thing from the other side. It's a constant exaggerating of Nintendo's successes and instant downplaying as soon as Sony has success, regularly accompanied by ignoring responses or facts.
Kerotan has a mod history but swinging the banhammer for every single innocent comment with full force is overkill in my opinion. Look at us. If the mods did the exact same with us we'd been permabanned for a long time.

A few times yeah, you see the problem is, when someone is being a dickhead, I have a tendancy to say so. |
Yeah, I have a similar issue
Someone made an (obviously) biased post accusing 'leftist sjw' ABC for taking off a shitty show and claimed it was because one of the dudes was republican lol. Called him out, got the typical 'triggered sjw liberal' response from him as he wondered why I was criticizing him in a discussion.
Told him to stop being such a fucking dumbass if he expects me to not call him out and got my first ban. Ever since then I've been more harsh without the direct tone, so I guess I found a way out of it(?)

Yes, they should get banned. But all the people I can think of at the moment do get banned, so you'd have to tell who is getting a free pass way too often. It sounds like you either aren't familiar with Kerotan or are willfully ignorant. He does what he does every week. His posts have wrecked Media Create threads countless times. |
I don't visit those threads very often. I don't know what he does there but it's probably way worse than that little comment he left in the other thread.

People should grow some thicker skin if they can't handle seeing opinions that they disagree with to be trolling.

I got banned calling a person an "idiot".

Is it ok to be labeling someone as a "Nazi sympathizer" so callously?
