You are correct that the mod team doesn't have to do a thing. If the team is fine with having a bad reputation, you can go against my suggestions.

Your suggestions aren't the only course of action that can or will be taken... And to assume your view is the only correct one is incorrect.

morenoingrato's moderation has not been overturned, so that's a clear statement by the mod team that it didn't see any faults with the moderation that was issued.

Not really.

I will call those results an inappropriate course of action because the applied punishment to the involved people isn't even remotely close to fair. Not with the approach of robotic application of the progressive moderation system, let alone a common sense approach.

Are you suggesting that the mod-team lacks common sense?

I dont get why everyone focus lies with the irrevant part or rols posts, then again that maybe the only bad part of his post thus why some love to jump on it.

His initial assesment is valid, but it looks like he is talking in a room full of people with earplugs

Rol is a big boy. He barks loudly... So he can defend himself.

Validity or not, you don't see the discussions that are had behind closed doors... So it's a bit of a false assertion to assume that everyone is wearing earplugs.

Damn, i checked sony part of the forum, crickets, sony fanbase is dead , microsoft fanbase here is what always was , gaming is deserted, only nintendo part is somehow active.

Announcements and new games mean threads and posts. Other than PS4 shipments there isn't much new to talk about.

@CGI-Quality May I ask what personal insults were made in this thread that asked for a warning? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=240735&page=1 Just seems a bit overly quick. If there was something from my side I'd be happy to roll it back.

Would it be possible to create an Official Locked Threads thread with links to threads that get locked? Locked threads no seem to go into a void.

It would be helpful so that we can use them for reference in other threads.

I think the idea from Talon was to make them drop away from the buddy at least so that if they're locked for a reason such as having something really bad posted in them that people will not login the following day and see whatever got posted which was so bad that mods dropped the hammer on the thread as a whole.

Just that threads can't really be deleted on here I think so it's a handy tool in a way to make sure that trash that shouldn't be seen doesn't get seen. (by the masses I mean, obviously there's reasons sometimes where you might want to see what happened for a thread to go "over the limit" and get locked so of course a category to see them could be useful, I'm just explaining why they have been sent to that void from our buddy)

They don't just drop from your Buddy list but gone from the forum board, your posts are gone, etc...

My point was a lot of those threads contain great research and when similar threads come up, it sucks having to redo all that research again.  Being able to access them again for referencing would save a ton of time and build better debates.

I can understand keeping them blocked from users not logged in though.

I'm not sure I follow what you mean here, locked threads are not deleted.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=230943&page=1

you can perfectly see every post which was made in a locked thread, but you need to go to the thread not using your buddy.

@Ka-pi96 what posts or threads have you had locked where you can't find them anymore? perhaps I could see the issue if there was something in mind in particular.

Yes, you can see everything if you have the thread bookmarked but you cannot access the threads from the forum index.

unless you browse here in incognito mode (hiding that video game love shame!) then you can just type a single word of the thread title into your browsers address bar and it should find the thread from your history providing it was in the last 6-12 months.

I'm just saying that posts are never deleted from here unless like Ka-pi96 said there is something in them which has to be mod edited out like porn or such, but VGchartz as a whole has more GDPR issues with inability to delete users data than there is to be able to delete posts/threads on a whim imo

I'd be afraid people would try and discuss the topics on the locked thread, it would have to be a locked thread in itself :P

Just delete any new posts.

Can't delete new posts, only edit them. That's alot of work if lots of people do it.

What happens if you lock a sticky thread or announcement thread? Do those still show up on the forum? Trying to think of ways that one could make a thread that users could see but only staff could post in. Because that would be a really nice solution to this.

I'm actually not sure what happens. You would want multiple people to be able to edit the thread because such an upkeep requires alot of work. Specially if we were to go way back to the beginning and track all locked threads. Also where do you draw the line? do we report duplicate locked threads? Trolling locked threads? Do we start from today? or are we going to dip into the achieves? lot's of questions :P
