Confirm the reasons for the ban, if it was really someone who didn't break any rules, but was moderated because he "should be moderated".

No mod ever gave me a warning for trolling before the ban.

This is another case of what Rol was getting at where the instigator gets away without punishment. 

He was moderated for being purposefully obtuse and annoying with people in the thread. Instead of debating with people and listening to arguments and responding in kind, he dismissed anything anyone said and moved goalposts, often simply ignoring the points they were making. Here's the mod note I left on his profile -

"With the discussion in this thread and your general thick-headedness with people and your refusal to understand the point I'm making, I'm pretty sure you're just trolling and I'm gonna get rid of you for 3 days. It's further solidified by your discussion with CGI-Quality and your earlier discussion with RolStoppable. You have a habit of ignoring the point people are making and trying to twist things into your own warped reality. Moving the goalposts, ignoring other peoples points and trying your absolute best to be annoying. On top of all that, you provide no evidence for your claims. I won't get involved anymore in this as it's between him and you but I must highlight something. And this is a big flaw in the system. An inconsistenty.

So basically this is exactly what miyamotoo was doing for weeks when we were discussing why the ps4 was down in Japan Q4 in 2017 vs 2016. I reported him countless times highlighting this fact yet no action was ever taken. The mod team didn't even tell him to cop on. In the end I took my frustrations out on him and got moderated. 

This is exactly what Rol was saying. The instigator goes unpunished. And it wasn't just me he did it to. NoCtiS_NoX wasted a lot of time trying to debate with him only for him to use the same shameless tactic. 

So why does quickrick get punished now but miyamotoo didn't a few weeks ago?

Sure, you can call it trolling. But such behavior isn't breaking any rules. That's why it made sense to support Carl's proposal from a couple of weeks ago, because such behavior can be included in instances where the mod team should have the freedom to moderate.
