But what does that say for Pokemon porn...? |
If the absence of it also means the absence of Pokemon, I'll be able to deal with it.

I don't get it why are they stuck in the past, for protecting their IP.
If it was for region locking or something else i would agree with you,but for this i'm on Nintendo's side.

Many other companies are now embracing fan games, they realize that fan games grow an IP's fanbase instead of stealing sales from the official games like Nintendo believes. Then there's Nintendo's outdated Youtube policy, their outdated Online Network, and as you mentioned, region locking. Nintendo is pretty outdated as a company. That being said, I do think it's stupid that these fan game developers waste years of their lives making Nintendo fangames when they know Nintendo's stance on them, it's not like they're going to change their stance just for your game, lol. If they were smart, they wouldn't advertise the game until it was up for download, that way by the time Nintendo's legal team responds it already has millions of downloads. |
Can you name these companies, because when it comes to protecting IPs, I know every company has done it to certain extent. Even Bethesda has. Even Sega has.

No dude just no when it comes to fanmade games with the same name of the IP.
Sure some companies allow modding most of them don't,i know bethesda and Cd Project Red allow modding maybe few more most of them don't,hell even Rockstar doesn't allow modding.
But fanmade games based on protected IP they don't allow that, not one company allows that maybe a fangame based on the title but with different name and almost everything else, except gameplay and few other elements, like that game based on Shadow of Collosus that's has been on Kickstarter.
boo fucking hoo. Who fucking cares. Cry me a river. Go make something original or don't share it on the internet.

Too late, you've already opened Pandora's Box!
the thing is Nintendo are just so so far out of touch with reality at the moment. i understand being smart with your property but Nintendo just don't get the internet at all. its the same where if you tubers put there content in a video it can be removed for copyright even though its free publicity for that game in the first place.
but yeh, who needs fans
