You're getting me mixed up with Magnus. I wasn't complaining about some Wii U games supposedly being ported.

Fucking lol. Apologies.

It's OK.

They didn't provide the bare minimum of support. No Zelda and they considering all the Wii U ports to Switch no Mario Kart or Smash Bros or Splatoon, since you could have just waited a year or two for Switch and get those anyway with extra content, when all other Nintendo systems had most of their games be exclusive to that platform for at least a decade. If they released a Zelda game for Wii U (and not a crap port of Switch Zelda) and kept Wii U games on Wii U then that could be considered support, but they didn't. They didn't just abandon the Wii U but took a huge dump on Wii U owners by making their purchase worthless.

Breath of the Wild is still coming to the Wii U and as I said in another thread, the Switch version is a port of the Wii U version, not the other way around.

I fail to see how these games supposedly being ported to the Switch makes a Wii U purchase worthless. The fun you had with the original versions of the games shouldn't be invalidated just because of them. Besides, you don't have to get the Switch versions if you don't want to.

Breath of the Wild is now mainly a Switch game, with the Wii U version having a limited release. And I could have just as much fun not buying the Wii U, wait for Switch and play those games on Switch. The only reason I bought the Wii U is because porting most games from one platform to another so soon is completely unheard of. Nintendo deliberately duped its customers by giving the illusion the Wii U would have proper library when in reality they just released beta versions of Switch games.

Magnus you're still being completely unreasonable.

First of all, the ports of these games are not CONFIRMED. Beyond that, they're very unlikely to be ports or remasters. Want proof? Use common sense. You know how Laura Kate Dale says that she *thinks* these are most likely remasters? Well think about how stupid this logic is. "Because they look similar to previous games, they must be a port of previous games". If the Switch is only a little bit more powerful than the Wii U is when undocked, then it makes sense that the first few sequels on Switch would LOOK like Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon. Laura, like a lot of people, probably is just *assuming* that these are ports because they look so similar. But that logic doesn't make much sense if the specs for the console undocked are so close to that of the Wii U.

Let's also look at the new additions = new character animations and clothes(characters and karts for Mario Kart)

Think about how little sense that makes. Remasters almost never include entirely different animations for characters. Beyond that, most shooters include content from previous iterations of the game on Launch. Gears of War 4 included Gridlock, Halo 5 included reimaginings of Bungie maps, etc. Oh, and did you notice the spawning area for the characters in Splatoon on Switch is COMPLETELY different from the one in regular Splatoon? In Mario Kart for Switch, you can also hold two items AND swap between them.

Does any of this sound like "port" material? No, it doesn't.

Also, think about how little sense a port from Nintendo makes. Nintendo has only ever remastered Zelda games, Pokemon titles, and ONE TIME Mario 64 for the DS. They only have a history of remastering single player games, and even then they're only usually there for the people who have not yet experienced those titles(I.E. Majora's Mask, Ocirina of Time, etc.). We're looking at this from a western perspective in which most developers port each and every game to their new system. But, that doesn't make sense for Nintendo. Most games that are ported from one console to another are relevant in perspective to the series. A good example is The Last of Us, because The  Last of Us is getting a sequel, and you have to play the original to understand the sequel. Do you have to do that with Mario Kart 8 or Splatoon? No.

The argument that Nintendo is doing it because the titles didn't get enough sales doesn't make sense either. I believe before November 26th, VGChartz actually estimated that Splatoon had sold more physical copies than Halo 5. Granted, that doesn't mean it DID sell better as a whole, but that's an example of a new franchise from a company never known for shooters than ended up outselling Halo 5's physical sales for a long time(maybe not exactly a week or two ago but you get the point). That, is extremely impressive. Also keep in mind  that not only is Nintendo new to shooters, but third person shooters are even less popular than first person ones. The time of third person shooters selling 4-6 million is no more, that's very rare for a third person game. Yet,  Nintendo accomplished it. To say Nintendo expects even MORE from these games is ridiculous, most of these titles sold better than anything on the Playstation or Xbox. Did they underperform compared to the Wi''s titles? Yes, but that's for a very obvious reason, and it wouldn't make nintendo port everything just for the sake of it. If Nintendo is really going to port Splatoon and Mario Kart, than Playstation and Xbox might as well port every title under 5 million copies to their new consoles. It's just so illogical it wouldn't make any sense.

The only games REALLY likely to come to the Switch as ports, are Super Smash Brothers because they don't want to work on another one(tiresome), and probably Pokken Tournament since most fighting games get support gradually over time, and Pokken Tournaments support system has probably been moved to a relevant console(the Switch).

If you want to say i'm completely and utterly wrong for trying to think outside the box instead of taking these remaster rumors at face value blindly(like most people) than ok

I think it's very likely that they are actually sequels to Mario Kart and Splatoon. A sequel to Mario Kart would make sense instead of a port because since 2005, Nintendo has been releasing a new Mario Kart game every 3 years. Next year will definitely be a brand new one based on how often they release a new one. I could definitely see a sequel to Splatoon on the Switch as well because of how popular it is on the Wii U.
