There is a huge difference between "wishful thinking bit" and "incredibly wishful thinking".

I don't think he meant "bit" as in "a little bit" but "bit" as in "piece" or "part"

So something like "Bolded is the part that's wishful thinking".

This would be correct.

The game would still have to work in handheld mode, so that is going to be the console barrier unfortunately

What console barrier!? If game runs in dock mode they can scaled down to work in portable mode also, like this UE4 info pointing.

Essentially, it will probably have a set way it downscales, so it will have to play at that increment.

You're still missing the point here I feel. "Bit" has nothing to do with the severity of the wishful thinking in this context. He was mearly pointing out where in your post the wishingful thinking was.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

No actually you are missing point here, "wishful thinking bit" and "incredibly wishful thinking" are not same things and thats my point, "incredibly wishful thinking" basically implies that thinking is impossible compared to a "wishful thinking bit". Fact that he went from "incredibly" to a "bit", proves my point.

But from this UE4 info you have idea how that could work, aiming to use most of power in dock mode and than just downscale that to work at lower resolution and lower assets in portable mode.

You're still not listening.

The words "incredibly" and "bit" have nothing to do with one another in this context.

Incredibly, is the extent to which what you wrote was wishful thinking.

Bit, is the section of your post that the wishful thinking was in.

If he had said "A bit of wishful thinking" you'd have a point. In the context he used it, it reffered to placement, not quantity.

With such a huge gap between portable and docked performance, how that extra power is used is going to have a dramatic effect on overall graphical quality.

If they simply design their graphics to run in portable mode, and boost screen resolution when docked, it'll look fairly unimpressive.

On the other hand, if they do use the extra power for provided by the dock to boost detail, texturing, (even just better filtering of the same base texture could make a big difference) effects, shadows, etc, then we could actually see a significant step up from Wii U graphics.

Guess this goes here? Or maybe a new thread.

"industry leading chips."

It seems like a static change and not dynamic. Don't expect too much

Honestly I think Nintendo just made this thing basically for Wii U tier graphics.

720p Wii U visuals is what it's supposed to run in portable mode.

1080p Wii U visuals for home dock
