Forums - Nintendo - Miyamoto still stifling Paper Mario, BUT next entry will not use Sticker Star gameplay!

If they don't learn from Color Splash, nothing will. Normal people learn from mistakes. You know... neuroplasticity. When you do something bad, your brains will adjust to prevent making the same mistake. But not at Nintendo. Their brains just stay...the same.

Meh. This ain't the Paper Mario I loved, and that's okay, I'd rather see these guys making mediocre games they actually want to make than mere insulting imitations of the originals they feel forced to work on, but that doesn't take the feeling of seeing an old friend being abused away. Not cool Nintendo, not cool.

Do they actually want to make this though? Afterall, Sticker Star was originally a true TTYD successor until Miyamoto came along.

They obviously don't feel passionate enough about their craft if they're not willing to fight for their vision, it's hard to place all the blame on Miyamoto when he is surrounded by terrified yes-men. Miyamoto still is a terrible developer and should retire, though.

I think Colour splash is vastly underrated, its up there with my fave Wii U games. I rank it 2nd to only thousand year door in the series.

I'm playing it at the moment and enjoying it very much, too. Can't understand the hate it gets for being different.

They have so damn little reguard for the user base.

Imagine if the next Call of Duty was suddenly a puzzle solveing game without any guns?
or a RTS game (Call of Duty - red alert).

People want Paper Mario to be a Turn based RPG.... give them that.
Messing around with the genre of a series just for fun? f*** that.

It is stupid that they're not sticking with the tried and true for sure, but it's not always a bad thing, Metroid Prime is a good example, though it's also the only example I can think of.

Damn that's a harsh jab at Miyamoto, but it's hard for me to disagree. You might be right about the passion thing, but I think the developers would be fired and shamed if they refused Godamoto's demands.

People have stood to Miyamoto before, to my knowledge, AlphaDream basically told him to fuck off, and Aunoma (Zelda's director) actively stands against his wishes in some ocassions. If you're fired for having an opinion then you're working for the wrong company, and they don't deserve you and your efforts.

I think that's too harsh on Miyamoto. You can malign him for his mistakes but he's done his share of good recently as well. Pikmin 3 and Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon exist and he was involved in those games. Plus he did provide feedback for the young devs on Splatoon and they have made a game with memorable characters. Not everyone's perfect of course. If that's your opinion, that's fine. Just personally can't label someone as "terrible" when he's done a lot good for this industry and it's not like everything he's been involved with recently has been crap (or received as such).

Oh, then yeah, Intelligent Systems has no excuses then. Alhough Paper Jam did have Sticker Star elements in it, but hopefully that was just because of the crossover and they wont be permanent features.

Well, that was one of the Color Splash flaws, Toad overload.
